History: (Saga of Swamp Thing #35 (fb) - BTS) - Wallace Munroe's company got the rights to store nuclear waste in the Lombard Mine's overflow pits, and one mine-worker developed an unhealthy fascination with the substance. The worker started drinking nuclear waste, and although he became radioactive he did not die. His touch was poisonous, and most anyone who encountered him in the mine ended up dead. He became a regional boogeyman, and the local children called him Nukeface. Munroe had no choice but to close the Lombard Mine and seal up the waste. Nukeface was devastated that his favorite drink was gone, but when he heard that Munroe would be dumping waste in Houma he followed him there.

(Saga of Swamp Thing #35, 36) - Nukeface met a homeless man named Diagonal Bob, and accidentally killed him by giving him one of his cans of nuclear waste to drink. He encountered Swamp Thing, and inadvertently destroyed the Thing's body with his touch. Nukeface was bitterly disappointed that the waste in Houma was dumped deep in a bog where he couldn't get at it. He vowed to search every town in America for more waste to drink.
