History: Gizmo was a scientific prodigy and ill-mannered dwarf who spent time as a free-lance criminal inventor. He owns his own corporation known as Gizmos, Inc. that supplied machinery and weapons to underworld organizations. When Dr. Light I placed a help wanted ad in the Underworld Star to form a super-villain group, he answered it and became a founding member of the Fearsome Five. The Fearsome Five has fought against the Teen Titans many times over the years..

(Adventures of Superman #430) - Gizmo, Mammoth and Shimmer advertised in the Voice for two members to complete the Fearsome Five. Charger and Deuce were accepted, but the others didn't know they had their own agenda, to kill Superman. They robbed the Metropolis diamond expo, and defeated Superman. Charger and Deuce wanted to kill Superman, but their teammates reminded them they were crooks not assassins. They next robbed the charity cruise aboard the Augustus Mandrell, and once again defeated Supes, who was distracted by issues in his personal life. Charger tipped off Superman to the Five's location so he could finish off the hero, but the newly confident Superman defeated the Five.

(Teen Titans III #8) - Gizmo joined up with Mammoth, promising to help the brute find his sister Shimmer, whom Mammoth refused to believe was dead. In exchange Mammoth helped Gizmo in committing a series of crimes. The duo were apprehended by the Teen Titans and escorted to Alcatraz Island.

(Teen Titans III #31) - In the afterlife Brother Blood siphoned Kid Eternity's powers over life and death and chained him to the opening of the door between life and death. Blood resurrected Ravager, Gizmo and Madame Rouge and set them to guard Eternity. Beast Boy and Raven of the Titans fought off the resurrected villains and freed Eternity. Eternity closed the door, returning the villains to the afterlife.
