Powers: Garguax was well versed in the advanced technology of his home-planet. His most notorious weapons were the army of androids he called the Plastic Men. These androids possessed superhuman strength and resistance to damage. Garguax possessed a spaceship capable of inter-stellar travel, equipped with a tractor beam and filled with deathtraps. Garguax’s obesity made him a poor fighter and immensely slow.

History: (Doom Patrol I #91) - Garguax was banished from his home planet, and fled in his spaceship to Earth. He began testing his newly developed weaponry on Earth, and intended to conquer his home planet once his weapons were perfected. The Doom Patrol and Mento destroyed his arsenal and blew up his spaceship.

(Doom Patrol I #96, 97) -

Garguax allied himself with the Brotherhood of Evil. He still found himself unsuccessful in his scheming against the Doom Patrol.

It was later revealed that Garguax was conspiring with Zarox-13, the ruler of his home planet, to destroy Earth. The Doom Patrol teamed up with the Brotherhood of Evil to defeat them, and they vanished for a number of years.

(Doom Patrol vol. 2 #11, 12)-Garguax claimed to have inadvertently destroyed his home planet. He launched a spaceship invasion on Earth, but was repelled by the combined efforts of the U.S. and Soviet Union armed forces, as well as a new version of the Doom Patrol.

(Doom Patrol vol. 2 #17, 18)-During the events known as Invasion! Garguax’s services are rejected by the alien alliance attacking Earth. Enraged, he briefly helps the Doom Patrol in protecting Earth. After the alliance has been driven off, Garguax immediately betrays the Doom Patrol. The Doom Patrol’s leader, Chief, kills Garguax by firing a laser at his battleship.

(Doom Patrol V #12 (BTS)) - Garguax went to work as V.P. of M.S.E., a pan-dimensional construction company. Owner Mr. Somebody thought it was time to bring the M.S.E. to Earth, and Garguax argued that they were overtaxing their resources as is, but Somebody ignored him.
