Powers: Evil Star had a brilliant yet twisted mind, and his primary weapon was the starband. The starband drew energy from the stars to prolong Evil Star's lifespan, create force blasts or hard light constructs and power the Starlings. Starlings were miniature versions of Evil Star that possessed superhuman strength and invulnerability and were under his complete control. Starlings needed direct commands from Evil Star to function, and they become directionless if he became unconscious. If Evil Star was kept away from starlight for a prolonged period his powers faded away.

History: (Green Lantern vol. 2 #159)-A scientist on the planet Auron dedicated himself to cheating death by drawing power from the stars themselves. He invented the starband, which made him immortal, but twisted his mind toward evil and prematurely aged his fellow Aorans. The people of Auron wanted him to destroy the starband, but having tasted immortality he refused to give it up. The ensuing battle left all of Auron lifeless except for the scientist, now known as Evil Star. Evil Star sought new worlds to conquer and came into frequent conflict with the Guardians of the Universe and the Green Lanterns, including Hal Jordan.

(Darkstars #3, 4)-The Guardians sent Evil Star to the Erral Rehab Facility, where they used a brain wave nullifier to cure him. This rehabilitation failed, and Evil Star fled to Earth. He fought with Ferrin Colos, one of the Darkstars, who flooded Star's mind with reminders of the lives he had taken, starting with his homeworld. Evil Star's mind shut down, and he was returned to the Guardians for reeducation.

(Green Lantern III #26-28) - Jocasta, Goldface, Jocasta, Repo and Piston escaped from their Oan sciencells, set up a base in Coast City, and planned to start an interstellar crime patrol. When they learned Green Lantern was in the area Evil Star wanted to attack him, but Goldface told him to stand down, they'd spent too much time making plans to risk an early confrontation with Lantern. Evil Star started fighting with his teammates, so Goldface separated them and ordered them to all cool down. Evil Star was severely weakened because he'd been away from the stars so long, and blamed Lantern for his loss of power. He couldn't help but attack Lantern by himself. He told Lantern the power inside him demanded he seek more power and demanded to be used. Lantern defeated him and he fled, but realized he felt revitalized after drawing off some of Lantern's power, so he sent his Starlings to steal Lanterns power battery. Evil Star couldn't figure out how to use the power battery and had to fight off his teammates, who wanted him to share the battery. Lantern found Evil Star, and Star demanded Lantern demonstrate how to use the battery. Lantern used this opportunity to recharge his ring and defeat Star once again, and he then delivered Star to the Guardians.

(JSA #28) - Nevada; Evil Star went to Roulette's House to attend one of her gladiatorial contests. He was among the crowd of villains that watched members of the JSA forced to fight each other.
