Powers: Concussion possessed superhuman strength and durability and had mental abilities, such as the power to make a target or targets see illusions.

History: (Adventures of Superman #429) - The Circle thought Superman was one of their own, and Circle member Prana died using his mindmeld powers to try and bring Superman to their side. The Circle no longer cared if Superman was of them, they saw him as a renegade and sentenced him to death. Concussion volunteered to act as executioner, and caught up with Superman while he was talking to Joseph Morgan and his son Adam. Concussions attack severely injured the Morgans, but Superman managed to take the fight away from them. Despite his relentless need to succeed for the Circle, Concussion was no match for Superman and was defeated.

(Adventures of Superman #435) - The Circle ended their vendetta against Superman, and Charger freed Concussion from prison to join the others. They tried to coerce Superman with mental attacks and hallucinations to help them return to the stars. Superman fought off their attacks and told them they should have just asked for help in the first place. With that he leant his power to the Circle and they left Earth.

The Circle's appearances stated they were precursors of humanity, but they later said they needed to return to the stars. So were they a terrestrial subspecies or extraterrestrials that were stranded on Earth? Who knows.
