Powers: Evilstein was a scientific and surgical genius that’d found a way to restore life to the dead and create hybrid beasts using grafting techniques. He was armed with the electric lash, a gun that fired bursts of electricity, and a blade sterilized in mystic chemicals that could cut through virtually anything.

History: (Demon I #11-13) - Von Rakenstein came from a long line of scientists and sorcerers and he possessed tomes containing their knowledge and details of their experiments. Rakenstein was given the nickname Von Evilstein by the scientific community because of his shocking lack of morality. Aided by his servant Igor he reanimated corpses into a monstrous new creation. Evilstein’s monster escaped the lab; sick of the mistreatment it suffered. The Demon Etrigan came to his aid, but Igor reclaimed the monster and subdued the Demon, who turned back into his human alter ego Jason Blood. One of Evilstein’s ancestors, who made hybrid beast-men hd been destroyed by the Demon, and he looked forward to experimenting on Blood. Evilstein decided to transplant his head and his demonic nature into his monster. Just as Evilstein was prepared for surgery Jason turned back into the Demon. He scorched Evilstein’s hand with his demon-fire and freed Evilstein’s monster, who fled in fear of his master. Igor assaulted the Demon with his electric lash, and the Demon burned down Evilstein’s lab, freeing all his monstrous experiments. Unable to defeat the Demon Evilstein and Igor tracked down the monster and killed him with the Electric Lash. The Demon retaliated by using the philosopher’s stone to turn Evilstein and Igor into vultures.
