Chinese Fan Palm :

From China this palm grows to about 30 feet tall,is a very hardy palm, being frost resistant and not minding soggy ground. Seed usually germinates within 2 months, although young plants are quite slow growers. They take a long time to develop a trunk. The Chinese Fan Palm is hardy to 10'F

RAVENEA RIVULARIS- MAJESTY PALM This is my Majesty Palm on the right.
MAJESTY PALMA very fast growing palm which slowly develops a trunk. Very popular house plant at the moment. Likes lots of water and partial sun or shade. This one is above six feet tall. The Majesty Palm is hardy to 28'F A picture of a tall majesty palm with a trunk.

1 Phoenix Roebelenii-Phoenix roebelenii

Phoenix RoebeleniiThis is my date palm.
Picture of a very tall specimen.

Phoenix Roebeleni :

From India this is a small growing palm to about 10 feet high, usually seen as a 2 or three foot trunk as the highest though. It is a slow grower. Very good in pots, and likes to be slightly pot-bound. This a very hardy plant, accepting heavy shade through to full sun, and poor soils and dry conditions. It prefers however, a sunny, well drained position, with frequent watering. Hardy to 26'F

Washingtonia Robusta-Mexican Fan Palm
I have three of these and am going to Grow some Washingtonia Filifera now.

Mexican Fan Palm :

From the west coast of the USA and Mexico, these well known palms hardly need an introduction, except, possibly as garden plants. If they are planted out and protected for a few winters, they can develop quite good resistance to cold and are a very stately tree. They are seen lining the road in the southwest. The mexican fan palm requires bright light, and an abundance of water. Even though they are of desert origin; their deep roots usually have access to permanent ground water. Hardy to 18'F
My largest Mexican Fan Palm (Caudia is Sitting next to it) has put on two new leaves in August and is growing fast. The Mexican Fan Palm ( I am setting next to)also has put on two new leaves in August. The smallest one had defoliated after I repotted it in July and is now putting on a Leaf very slowly compared to the others.
