You need to pick out your favorite rod and reel.

Make sure you have plenty of line.( I use 10 pound test line.)

Now you should choose a bait.

Bait falls in two categories. Live and fake bait.

Let's start with Live Bait

  1. Worms
  2. Crickets
  3. Minnows
  4. Grub Worms

Fake Bait

  1. Spinner Baits
  2. Poppers
  3. Crank Bait
  4. Pork & Jig
  5. Plastic Grubs
I know there is alot more you can use. I just can't think of them now. If you can think of any more, or something you have had any luck on email me and let me know.

Now that you have your bait, you need to put it on your line. First you'll need a hook. Put the line in the hole, in the hook. Wrap it around the hook 5, or 6, or 7 times, depending on how thick the line is. Then put the line through the bottom hole. Once you did that, put the line through the big hole in the middle, then pull it tight. Take the bait you choose, and put it on the hook.

Casting: Now your ready to catch the big one!!! On the reel there is a button on the bottom. Push that button. Raise the pole above your shoulders, or head as your throwing release the button, and your line should go far (except my brothers.) Don't let your dad throw his pole in the water (if he does it usually means he's mad.) Make sure he keeps his hands on it the whole time. Them things cost money.

Well, that just about does it. If you have a story about your experience on catching a fish, email me, and let me know. I'd love to hear it.

So you know where I will be.
