Welcome to my website. I am Carol Killion, Computer Technology Professor at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, Arkansas. I enjoy helping students to achieve their goals. We are located in the Northeast corner of the "Natural State" about 40 miles north of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Our fine town boasts 5 major rivers flowing around its outskirts, we have several fine public schools in the area, and one college (BRTC), mentioned above.
BRTC offers many courses in Computer Technology. If you have a question about my website or a computer question that is really bugging you, please e-mail me, and I will answer you.
In the future, I would like to have a Computer Consulting Service or teach online courses. I have written a paper on THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S OBLIGATION TO THE UNDERPREPARED STUDENT which reflects some of my beliefs about the adult learner and his/her trials in pursuing higher education. These students have such high motivation, and they can achieve AGAINST ALL ODDS. I will add more information on this article later on another web page.
I am married with two grown children, Brenda and Deborah. Deborah is a teacher in Special Education at Pocahontas Public Schools and writes songs for Hollywood on the side. She also does web design for businesses. Brenda is an Interior Designer for the Arkansas Historical Preservation Program, Main Street Division. She and her husband, Steve, live in Conway where he is a Chiropractor. My husband is Dr. Grant Killion,Curriculum Supervisor for Pocahontas Public Schools and is partially retired. In his spare time, he teaches Philosophy of Education for Arkansas State University, teaches Bible classes, preaches for a small congregation, and writes articles for periodicals and newsletters.
