4. Text: College Keyboarding, MICROSOFT WORD 2000,Lessons 61-120, by Duncan, VanHuss, Forde, and Woo.



5. Publisher: Southwestern Publishing Company,



6. Course Description: This course is designed to allow students to use their basic keyboarding skills to refine their skills in production work including letters, memos, reports, business forms, resumes', and tabulation. Advanced word processing techniques and skill development through speed and accuracy control continues as an integral part of Keyboarding II.

II. COURSE OBJECTIVES:



1. Format two-page letters and memos.

2. Learn special letter parts and envelopes.



III. COURSE ORGANIZATION:



1. Classroom situation is in a Lab Setting with instructor circulating around room to assist students. Each students will have a computer.



Software: MICROSOFT WORD 2000



2. Students will receive Study Guides for each unit of study with a time-frame for turning in homework. Students will be allowed to progress at their own rate within the specified time-frame.



3. Timed Writings will be given as needed.



IV. EVALUATION OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT:



1. HANDS-ON achievement tests and timing tests will be given at checkpoints.



2. Timing Tests : 100 points



3. Unit Work: 50 points each



4. Final Exam: 200 points--Hands On (25% of Total Grade)



5. Grading Scale:



90-100 A

80-89 B

70-79 C

60-69 D

Below 60 F

VI. OTHER INFORMATION:

1. Attendance: Students are expected to attend this class regularly in order to satisfactorily complete the course.

2. Makeup Test Policy: No makeup tests will be given unless you have extenuating circumstances which would make you have to miss a test. Contact your instructor ahead of time, and you will be expected to take the test on your first day back. If you do not take the test then, you will receive a 0 for the test. Do not miss a test without contacting your Instructor first.

3. Late Assignments: Any assignments turned in late --will be assessed a 10% penalty.
