Course Description: This course is designed to help students develop technology skills and

Research strategies for management, marketing, and business systems

Using the Internet, Intranet, and E-mail.

II. COURSE PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:



1. Develop skills on how the Internet works.

2. Develop skills on surfing the Internet.

3. Use the Internet for research.

4. Create homepages for publication on the Internet.

5. Learn how Intranets work.

6. Create an Intranet for a business.

7. Use E-mail for business and personal communication.

















III. COURSE ORGANIZATION:



1. Classroom situation is a lecture and lab setting with instructor giving lectures on each chapter. Students will also work on exercises with instructor giving

assistance when needed.



2. Written tests will be given 4 times during the semester. This is subject to

change by the instructor.



IV. EVALUATION OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT:



1. Written Tests (4) at checkpoints. Each test will be announced several days ahead of time. Written tests are worth 100 points each for a total of 400 points.



2. Research Report: 100 points Instructor will give you a handout on the details on this.



3. Final: 100 points .The final will be an overall Internet Literate test.



4. Grading Scale:



90-100 A

80-89 B

70-79 C

60-69 D

Below 60 F

VI. OTHER INFORMATION:

1. Attendance: Students are expected to attend this class regularly in order to satisfactorily complete the course.

2. Makeup Test Policy: No makeup tests will be given unless you have extenuating circumstances which would make you have to miss a test. Contact your instructor ahead of time, and you will be expected to take the test on your first day back. If you do not take the test then, you will receive a 0 for the test. Do not miss a test without contacting your Instructor first.

3. Late Assignments: Any assignments turned in late --will be assessed a 10% penalty.
