Despite his age Nigel is very quick and makes good attacking runs down the left supporting Marc Overmars. Many thought that when Wenger arrived he would sell Winterburn, but he kept him and it has proven well worth it. Not only is he a very competitive defender he also scored a cracking goal against Chelsea to win us the game in the 97/98 season.
