English teacher confesses to killing Jon Benet Ramsey

Suspect eluded investigators for 10 years by blending into Eikaiwa teaching environments

BANGKOK, Thailand (GTA) -- Eikaiwa teachers are finding themselves cringing at the latest reports that a former English teacher, John Mark Karr, has been arrested for the murder of six year old Jon Benet Ramsey.

The former manager of the school claims that John was just agregular guy" teaching English in Japan.

"Nothing that really stuck out, really. One of the more normal guys on the staff," he explained to the GTA in a telephone interview.

"You know, you would have said that one of my teachers would be implicated in a ten-year old murder case, I would have actually guessed Christian or Derek who are upstairs now. John would have been my third choice.h

"It's a little surprising in some respects," said one anonymous teacher who previously worked together with John.

"John was always somewhat unusual, but honestly I'd guess that we've worked with 8-9 people at this school that are just as wierd."

It was one small slip-up that ultimately led to the arrest of John Mark Karr.

Apparently, a teaching lesson on past-conditionals gave Karr away. After playing several minutes of catch-ball, a student asked him, "What do you wish you hadn't done."

To which Karr replied, "If I hadn't killed Jon Benet Ramsey in 1996, I wouldn't have had to leave the U.S."

After leaving the United States, Karr managed stay under the radar as an English teacher.

"You know I didn't really notice one thing about him that really made him stand out from other teachers," said Karr's friend and fellow English teacher, Joan Panica. "Sure, he seemed somewhat of an odd type, but he's not nearly as strange as our co-worker Clarence now who left out all his x-rated puri-kura all over his desk and forgot about it."

"I thought Karr was one of the more emotionally steady people at the school to be honest."
