U.S. State department warns travelers going to Japan not to touch underneath those plastic seats up on the train station platform

WASHINGTON D.C. (GTA) -- The U.S. state department on Monday issued a warning for all travelers in Japan to avoid areas that may be potentially danger spots. According to the press release, U.S. citizens should exercise extreme caution and "not come in contact or place any bags or luggage items underneath the plastic seat benches located on train platforms."

Moreover, those who use public trains should take extra caution when standing near platform vending machines or other "corner spots" particularly early on Saturday or Sunday mornings.

In addition to platforms, the U.S. urged travelers to use caution at the following restrooms: Roppongi Station, Shibuya Station, Shinjuju Station, Ueno Station, Kawasaki Station, and Ikebukuro Station. Those who must use the bathroom in Shinjuku should particularly avoid the one located near the east exit by the Kabukicho police box.
