Japanese youth proclaiming to be "As happy as a clam" in serious condition after being pummeled by Manchester youths

Management, staff discontented by teacher's overly quick health recovery

TOKYO, Japan (GTA) -- Nineteen-year-old student Hiroki Yamaguchi is recovering from head lacerations and internal bleeding after being brutally attacked by a group of Manchester ruffians.

From what police investigators have gathered, Yamaguchi entered a local pub and attempted to use a key idiom from his GEOS GET SERIOUS! textbook.

Witnesses said, Yamaguchi ordered a one pint of lager before cheerfully announcing that he was currently, "as happy as a clam."

The GEOS GET SERIOUS NOW! textbook presents "Happy as a clam!" as part of a section entitled TAKE OFF WITH REAL ENGLISH in section 8.

As a result, a GEOS spokesperson announced it would remove HAPPY AS A CLAM from future textbooks and will no longer teach it as a viable way to publicly assert one's high degree of happiness.
