English conversation teacher now says Iraq War was a mistake
"Regrets" lending his support to war in earlier lessons
OSAKA, Japan (GTA) -- Twenty-three-year-old Gaba English teacher Mark Rupp has finally acknowledged that he made a mistake of initially supporting the war in Iraq.
The third-year Gaba teacher, made the announcement during a routine Business Strategies lesson that evolved into what is commonly known in the Eikaiwa business as "free talk."
"I think George Bush had good intentions, however, its obvious that this experiment has failed," explained Rupp, a graduate of San Jose State University whose hobbies include cooking, hanging out, and watching a good movie. "Good intentions. Yeah, i-n-t-e-n-t-i-o-n-s. It just means you meant to do something good but maybe it didn't work out well," he added.
Prior to the Iraqi invasion, Rupp had expressed support for the removal of Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. At one point, Rupp infamously claimed during a GTS 1 lesson that Hussein possessed nuclear weapons and "probably" wanted to use them on the United States.
However, in a later GTS 4 lesson, Rupp later became critical of Jewish intrests which he claimed had control over U.S. policies. Rupp explained that we need "to boycott Starbucks coffee because it just gives money to Jews and Israel."
As soon as he heard the news, twenty-five-year-old Canadian teacher Alex Duqawalt, whose hobbies include judo and cooking, blasted Rupp during a GTS4 lesson on past conditionals. "Americans (Mark) tend to be arrogant war mongering religious fanatics who they think they are better than everyone else." He then added that people need to "Boycott Starbucks because it was a symbol of American imperialism and served terrible donuts compared to Tim Horton's."
