Increasing number of men reduced to practicing golf swing in public
YOKKAICHI, Mie (GTA) -- A research team from the Iceland Institute has released their results following an extensive study of Japanese businessmen and golf swing neglect.
The group's findings indicate that a growing number of workers have no choice but to perfect their golf swing in public.
The growing trend is becoming more and more noticeable as worker's hours increase. The reduction in leisure time means that more and more employees must maintain their golf swing in clear view of others, or risk having their golf skills deteriorate.
One such employee, who asked to remain anonymous, admitted that he was forced to keep his golf skills in check by practiing, "while waiting in line at the coffeeshop, on the train station platform, while wife picks out furniture at Ikea, at the bustop, while waiting for the light to change, while waiting for the elevator, in front of the supermarket checkout, in the ATM line, at the sports gymnasium, in the airplane aisleway, inside a Starbucks bathroom, at his desk, in the shower, and in front of 7-11," among other places.
"It's a shame. People can see me everytime I grip my hands and pretend to swing on the station platform," explained Ryutaro Nishikawa, a public servant in his mid-fifties. "But please tell me another way I can maintain my razor-sharp form that is well known at the driving range for superb accuracy? Do you think my whole life is spent wasting away at the hell-hole also known as Ota Ward Office?"
