Editorial: New Gaba partner's choice to refer to his customized and relaxed cutting-edge web-enabled, innovative, stylish learning studio as a mere "desk" and "computer," demeans everyone in the Eikaiwa industry

March 15th, 2007 -- Lowell K. Shields may mean well, but his constant references to the Gaba Learning Studio as an English conversation "school" are quickly becoming tiresome for other professional entrusted partners.

An occasional mistake could be understood. But it is difficult to condone when you consider that Shields also calls his customized & innovative learning booth a "desk" and routinely inquires about his customized & precise client schedule by asking if he has any "students" during the afternoon.

This seemingly innocuous behaviour may be more harmful than some may think. If left alone, this form of image debasement could threaten the very professional perception Gaba has sought to define themselves with.

Since becoming an entrusted contract partner, Shields has shown a consistent pattern of degrading our radically professional, cutting-edge, pro-innovation based culture.

Disgraceful.

One must stop and question whether Shields is on the same page as the other entrusted contract partners who only want keep busy at the same Gaba Omote-Sando customized learning studio facility by generously devoting their availability and effort to the professional customized studio center.
