SEOUL, South Korea (GTA) -- A breakthrough in human Eikaiwa teacher research by GEOS, in a joint project with scientists in South Korea, has been hailed as ground-breaking.

A research team based at Seoul University in South Korea this week announced they had created the first Eikaiwa teacher clone. The announcement has sent shockwaves throughout the English school industry.

"With cloning, we are going to see more attractive looking English teachers than what we've been accustomed to," pointed out one industry analyst.

"Finally, we will begin to actually see the kind of teachers we have dreamed of creating."

GEOS described the achievement, reported in the journal Science, as a major advance towards producing a more photogenic, teacher to better meet the needs of today's students.

As soon as the first 100 clones were produced, GEOS began terminating teachers in schools throughout Japan.

"Eikaiwa teacher cloning has made tremendous strides. We will now have an army of "super teachers" that will enable GEOS to dominate the entire Eikawa industry throughout Japan," lead researcher Hwang Woo-suk of Seoul National University said in a telephone interview.

"You must also keep in mind that this is only a prototype. We actually we're hoping to make the teeth even whiter and increase the cheek bones. However, we are still very confident over what we have accomplished using state-of-the-art Korean technology.h

The first shipment of clones arrived in from Korea last Friday and should be fully programmed for teaching duties by next month according to GEOS executives.

The head of the GEOS team, Dr. Miodrag Dragenstojkovic, revealed that the breakthrough could be successful only after gaining a complete map of Bridget Nielsen's DNA.

"Thank heaven that Mrs. Nielsen was able to sell this DNA at reasonable cost," said Dragenstojkovic.

But Josephine Drapen, founder of the public interest group Eikaiwa-sensei Reproductive Ethics (ESRE) described the use of cloning for english conversation class as "quite horrifying," and said that clones will never be able to match "live" human beings.

"The average teacher has around three hobbies and can give students advice about what to do if they ever go to Manchester or New Jersey or wherever their hometowns may be. How can we put our trust in clones to do this?"

"Ethically, it is very irresponsible," Drapes added.

When asked for a comment, one clone complained that she was just into the teaching thing until she could get a better gig.
