Family confirms that English teaching son has let them down again this Christmas season
Christmas party theme to focus on "moving on" in 2007
TOKYO, Japan (GTA) -- Brandon Talyor's worst fears were confirmed last Saturday when key members of his family in Chicago, Illinois ackowledged they were secretly disappointed in him this holday season.
Taylor, who is spending his 3rd year over in Japan, has spent the last couple of months feeling as if he might be letting people down by spending so much time away from home.
These fears were confirmed by Brandon's mother and step-father who now admit that by missing a 3rd Christmas, Brandon is slowly losing the confidence of the family.
"It's not only Christmas. Brandon has missed his sister's college graduation, his father's retirement party, and wasn't here for the birth of his nephew. Not to mention, mom's surgery."
This is just a short list of the grievances held by the Taylor family. The biggest looming one appears to be the inevitable death of Grandma Taylor, who would always take Brandon out for popular childhood activities, including trick-or-treating and multiple zoo excursions when he was just a boy.
But now it appears that Brandon will not be around when the last gasp of air is eventually exhaled out of the tired, weakened lungs of his soon to be cold, dead grandmother.
According to Taylor's grandmother, she is perfectly well aware that the high cost of airfare and the difficulty of arranging the schedule will make it very difficult for Brandon to return home.
Nevertheless, grandma called it "a real shame" that economic realities could prevent Brandon from coming to her funeral, adding that Brandon should concentrate on getting more blue bookings if he wanted to make her happy.
Brandon's mother later admitted that although she had been supportive of Taylor's living abroad, she had grown tired and planned to put Brandon "out of her mind" this holiday season.
"During the first year, we were all supportive of Brandon's decision to go to Japan. But now it's his third year and frankly we just are very disappointed and saddened. Luckily, there are plenty of other things happening so we don't have to necessarily worry about whether or not Brandon is doing ok this holiday season."
She added that she doubted if she would be able to find time to send him Stove Top or apple & cinnamon instant Quaker oatmeal anymore. Not to mention a tape of this year's Packers/Bears game.
