Girl's heart "broken" as Nova declares bankruptcy days before Halloween party
TOKYO, Japan -- Kaechi Tanaka had her heart set for months on the upcoming Nova kids' halloween party. Hoping to win the prize for best costume, Tanaka figured her chances would be anywhere from "excellent" to "very good."
Friends of Kaechi worry as she has not come out of her room since news broke of the resignation of embattled CEO Nozumu Sahashi.
"Kaechi has been waiting for the Kidz Halloween Super Happy Party for at least four months," explained friend and classmate Ryuutaro Shimada.
"I can't believe they would just break her heart like this."
Kaechi Tanaka had planned to attend the Halloween party dressed as the popular Nova rabbit. However, that opportunity has now been completely obliterated.
"The only thing the girl wanted was to wear her bunny outfit to the Nova Halloween party," explained Shinya Tanaka, a systems engineer and also Kaechi's father.
"Now all she does is sit in her room, holding her stuffed animal. It breaks my heart."
