New book claims Japan may be ready for its first "Blood type-B" Prime Minister
Public attitudes continue to change, perhaps too fast?
TOKYO, Japan (GTA) -- According to a new book written by Tokyo University professor of political science Hideo Watanabe, Japan may be closer than ever to the day when a prime minister with blood type-B takes office.
In a poll conducted by the Gaba Teachers Association more than 6 out of 10 Japanese now say that a leader's blood type should have no affect on a person's qualifications to lead the nation.
"I think it is sure to be a blood-type B Prime Minister one day. I would be very happy, because I like blood-type B people and maybe we need to change Japan," explained 42-year old driver Yoshi Fujimoto.
Others we talked to were skeptical. "I would have a concerned feeling if a blood type-B person was a Prime Minister in Japan," stated Atsuko Minamoto, a 24-year old part-time worker. "Maybe, they would leave snacks all over their desk or oversleep. Although no misunderstandings, I'm not a prejudice. Some of my best friends are blood type-B. There's one in my coffee shop who is so kind and friendly."
