CNN’s treatment of recent events is very positive and very one sided. The view of CNN on hurricane Katrina almost glorifies it. They talk about how all the Americans have banded together they don’t seem to talk about what is happening in the streets. For example they report about how President Bush won’t be sidetracked and that how the American people should have faith in there government. On the topic of the war in Iraq CNN almost turns into propaganda. For example when there was something bad to report, the corruption in the Iraqi election, they don’t just say it. They turned it around by saying there will be some recounting because of the large amounts of “yes” and “no” votes in certain regions. |
