notes:

Great intimate show. About 200 people in the small venue where Opeth were rehearsing for their upcoming dvd-filming in London. Featured two sets, one mellow with mainly songs from the Damnation album. It was played almost from beginning to end with the exception of Harvest (from "Blackwater Park") and the Deep Purple cover Soldier of fortune.

Set 2 was the heavy set and IMO the highlight. It was very good and great hearing and seeing Opeth perform live. However, I certainly hope they will include more songs from their earlier releases when they come back to play in Gothenburg in October. Deliverance is a good album, but I was a bit dissapointed when they didn't play a single song from Still Life, My arms..,Orchid or Morningrise. The evening featured over 2 hours of live Opeth though, so I really can't complain.

The recording came out nice and clean. Not much audience yelling which is very nice. A couple of Yeahs and wows, but really just where they should be. Not like the crowd overseas where there is always(!) a guy that has to yell fuck or something like that, both during and between songs. Sound has a tiny club sound though, but the stacks were very small at this venue. Boosted the levels quite a bit when mastering to cd, but both sets turned out very nice. I would say overall quality is very good and I'm happy with it. Check out the sound sample on the great track "To rid a disease".
