Updatey Fun!

Okay, so I decided to add this piece of crap page to my piece of crap website so that everytime the three people that visit this website do so, they don't have to check every single page to see if my lazy ass has done anything. Perhaps I'll turn it into a sort of lame diary blog type thing as well. We'll see. Go me, and my tribute to laziness.

3/10/06 That's right, losers. It's been over two years since I updated. I'm actually stunned I remembered my password and stuff at all. Anywho, all I did so far was change some colors, but I think I may change some content sometime. If I get time or have the inclination. But probably not.

1/27/04 Updatey time. Go me. I took Brandon's weblog off my links page because I'm tired of his drama queen antics. Nothing is lamer than making up stuff to put on your weblog so that all your internet groupies will think you're some kind of rock star. Hey Brandon! You two were dating! Deal with it.

Thinking of putting Kyle back on my links page, because he's in a class with me. He's also not hanging out at the QSCC as much anymore, so hopefully the whining has died down. He was always a nice kid and fun to talk to, but I got sick of reading all his depressing "Everyone at QSCC is mean" crap. It got tired, and was not fun.

Added Carmens and Tom's livejournals to the links page, in order to make things easier for me when I'm cruising all my websites. Yeah, I'm lazy, so what.

I also have had a Livejournal for a while now, huzzah. I've joined the ranks of civilization. I am getting lots of crafty ideas from the knitting and crocheting communities I've joined, though, so that's been oodles of fun. Erm...Yeah I guess I'm done for now.

12/11/03 Finally updating again...I took two links off the links page instead of adding any. How efficient of me. Anywho, Ann and Jessica never update their blog anymore, and I've decided that Kyle is too much of a whiner. Nice kid, but big whiner. So if you wanna read his whining, go to LiveJournal.com and find it yourself. I think his screen name is faceball.

Semester is finally almost over. I'm completely finished with British Archaeology, have a take home final for Scan. Myth, an online final for Roman Arch, and a regular final for Cultural Anth. Not too shabby. Plus, next weekend Googers and I are going home for Christmas! Yay!!!

The End.

11/05/03 Updated the..guess!...quiz page again, this time about where I'll end up in hell. Not surprisingly, I'm in the level with all the heretics. Now that's some good funny. In other news, the kittens have been neutered, and haven't calmed down at all, leading me believe that they are actually just insane.

10/08/03 Updated the damn quiz page again. Those things are too frickin' addictive. Working on stuff for Anthro Club has been wearing me down...This Conference is a lot of work. Maybe I should try to start delegating tasks or something. Yeah right. Bleh. Oh well, people will help when I freak out on everyone. Heh. At least I look damn cute today. These jeans and my pink chucks go fabulously together. Go me.

And now, just a quick funny tidbit from Melika. This is a quote from our Club's social event at Kikugawa, "My goal is to be so balanced that my alter-ego would be...me." Damn Melika, you are a funny girl. :-)

09/26/03 Well, out of pure boredom, I've updated the Quiz page, and put on three more quizzes. Not that they weren't fun, I just wish I could think of something a little more substantial to do with this page right now. No time for major reconstruction though; too many papers to start researching! Meh...

09/23/03 Huzzah! School is back in session. Bleh. Triple-bleh to infinity plus 1 because of Shasty McNasty's class. Honestly, I think WebCT is the most retarded thing ever invented. Meh. And I've been too busy to update, but I'm waiting for someone to show up, so here I am. Well, the kitties are great. Flower is now Flower Ultor (the Avenger) because he's a little bastard sometimes and bites his brother's nuts.

I'm now the Co-President, Secretary, and Webmaster of the Anthro Club as well, yippee. It's not bad, but lots o' work. And I might join this pro-choice group on campus, as well, because I'm not quite busy enough already....Hep. Um....Gary and I are going to move to the 'burbs, hopefully out to Brooklyn Park, sometime next spring. AND....We're going to get a car!!! We're saving up right now so we can have it before we go home for Thanksgiving. Weeeee!!!!

08/14/03 Gary and I are back from vacation and we had SUCH a good time! I'll just do a quick rundown here...

Day 1 Gary and I arrive in Wisconsin Dells after I go to a doctor's appointment. We walk around on the strip, and decide to get our pictures taken at one of those old time photo places. We also play mini-golf at Pirate's Cove. Fun! We eat dinner at River Walk Pub and I get a fabulous bloody mary. Yum.
Day 2 Gary and I go to Noah's Ark and hit the new ride, Sting Ray, straight away. It's kinda scary but it's fun! We take a break in the middle of the day to walk around downtown and eat free samples at the candy stores, then go back to Noah's Ark to make sure we get on all the rides we want. And we did! We eat dinner at some fancy-schmancy place called Sargento's. Great food, lackluster service. We then get our pictures taken at some place, where we're dressed like 1930's gangsters! Super Fun!
Day 3 This is a chill day. We go on a Dells Jet Boat Tour, which kicks ASS! Then, we get maple fudge and pecan brittle from a candy store whilst going around the strip. In the evening, we go to the Tommy Bartlett Water Show, which was awesome, except for the part with all the Polynesian dances. Don't EVEN get me started on the commodification of other cultures. Gr.
Day 4 This is the day we head down to Illinois for Great America. But first, we eat breakfast at Paul Bunyan's Lumberjack Restaurant or whatever it's called. Mmm-mmm good (Campbell's, please don't sue me.) Then we take the three hour drive to Gurnee, go on some rides, and discover that Great America is not that much fun. Well, at least we got 7 bucks off each of our tickets because of that coke can deal. Bleh. I've still got a bruise on my leg from one of the ride restraints. ANYWHO, we do sneak up through the back way to stand on the bridge at Splashwater Falls. You're not supposed to, but we were hot and did it anyways. Eat THAT, Great America! Then we leave, go to our hoity-toity hotel, and piss off the hotel clerk because we're not rich. Boo hoo. We had fun messing with him though.
Day 5 This is the day we visit the fantabulous Brookfield Zoo, which is 216 acres of animal filled fun! It's a great zoo, and we have a great time walking around, taking pictures, and being goofy. It rains a little but that doesn't bother us much. We see a cool dolphin show, a bird that's been at the zoo since it opened in 1934, and giraffes aplenty! It was a good day. We also go to our third and final hotel, which is very nice, and close to the train station too!
Day 6 This is the day Gary and I take on Chicago. We take the train in, feeling very grown up and very lucky to be saving buttloads of money on parking (weekend tickets for the train are only 5 bucks apiece, and you can ride as many trains as you want.) We walk from Union Station to the Field Museum, taking pictures and admiring the sites along the way. At the museum, we catch the Eternal Egypt exhibit, which only went for one more day after that. It was composed of pieces from the British Museum, and it was too cool. We see dinosaurs as well, including my FAVORITE dinosaur since I was about seven, the apatosaurus excelsus. Then, we walk to Navy Pier, and on the way, we pass the Red Bull Flugtag! That was pretty damn cool to see. We eat at a place called Joe's Bebop Cafe, and have AWESOME bbq sandwiches. Yummers. Then we walk back to Union Station and take the train to our hotel.
Day 7 This is our final day. We take the train back into town, and basically just walk around and go to stores and stuff. We eat lunch at Ed Debevics, which was SO much fun. I really wish Minneapolis would open up one of those, they are too great. Then, we drive back home, and that is the end of our Seven Day Vacation Extravaganza!!!!

Okay, maybe that wasn't very short at all, but it was thorough at least. :-P Anywho, in other news, Gary and I have adopted two very sweet kittens from the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. The people there were very nice, and made sure we have everything we need for them. They do great work, like all humane societies, so please, if you know of an animal shelter near you, donate a bag of cat litter, or dog food, or something. It really helps those places out a lot.
Well, we have two boys, an orange tiger we named Mr. Bojangles, and a black cutie with a white tip on his tail we named Flower (because he's kind of shy, but very sweet, like the skunk in Bambi. Yes, I named him, and I am a nerd.) We made them this huge scratching post that they love to climb on, and they get along very well together. They also like to snuggle. *sigh* Kitties are cute.

I guess this is all for now. I'm tired of typing.

07/28/03 Whoo, I CAN actually update more than once a summer! Take that, naysayers! Pfff...In order for there to be naysayers, people would actually have to visit this site first. Oh well. I added a Quiz page, with results from a bunch of net-quizzes I've happened upon. Be warned, most of them so far are anime-related. I'm still looking for one that'll tell me which Ninja Turtle I'm most like. *sigh*
Oh yeah, and I changed the heading on the Links page a couple days ago. Whoopity do.
Ummm...Oh yes, here's a list of the movies I've seen this summer...Charlie's Angels 2 (very cute), Legally Blonde 2 (pretty annoying), Pirates of the Caribbean (extremely cool. I love you Johnny Depp!), and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Very Good). I've seen lots this summer because of cool Twilight Matinee deals. The last matinee of any show only costs $4 at Crown Theatres, so it's been extremely convenient. Every good soul who bothers to read this page should check and see if their local theatres have a deal like this, or if they have student discounts.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm hankering (you heard me) for another tattoo...But I'm having a hard time coming to any kind of decision. Pah.

Only a week till Gary and I are on vacation! Whooooo!

07/21/03 Well so much for frequent updates. There isn't much to report though. Took two classes this summer, finished one, and am working on the final paper for the other. After that, just my UROP to work on, and a vacation to look forward to. Oh, and my cousin's wedding. That should be fun.

In other news, I saw the kids who play Carmen and Juni in Spy Kids at the Mall of America yesterday! It was kinda cool. Very adorable kids. They were signing autographs for the mountains of little children who were there. I wanted to get their autographs for my friend Jen's daughter Bridget, but waiting in line for like an hour and a half just wasn't that appealing. So I didn't. But I told them about it today. Good for me. Hahaha...

05/22/03 Whoooo, 4.0 this semester! I rock! No, not really, because it'll never happen again, but still. I'm very happy with it. Go me.

05/20/03 *Sigh of relief* Finals are finally finished. (I just used three words that start with "fin" in one sentence. Damn I'm cool.) I somehow got an A in Latin, I should get an A- or so in Greek Archaeology, and I'm still waiting on Theory and Method and my lit class. Eh, whatever. I'm done, so it's time for fun!
I added Claire's groovy webpage to my Links page, and that's about all I've really done to the webpage. Hopefully I'll get some Conference picts up soon. I'm thinking of adding a page about the UROP I got for this summer at some point, after I've done it. Then I'll be cool like Claire, who is smart and cool.
In other news, I'm talking Gary into going to Disney World this summer, whoo hoo! You can find some great info on doing a Disney trip cheap at Mousesavers, so if you love all things Disney, check it out! Uber-thanks to Jen B. for tipping me off on the wealth of knowledge that site holds!
What else...Saw the Matrix sequel. It's ok, but you may as well wait for it to come out on video. Check Wil Wheaton's site (on the links page) for links to more reasons about why the movie wasn't that great.

05/14/03 Well, well...I finally managed to go for more than a day without an update. Finals are upon us, and priority had to go to those. Luckily, I'm done with three of my classes (Latin, miserable final; Art and Archaeology of Ancient Greece, should turn out all right; and my lit class, which turned out much better than I thought). Only my Theory and Method of Archaeology final left, at 8 AM this Saturday. I'd love to strangle the sadistic bastard that thought ass-crack-of-dawn weekend finals were a good idea.
Anyway, in other news, I saw X-2 last night, and it kicked ass! Nightcrawler was bitchin', Storm wasn't as useless as in the first movie, and you're in for a lovely surprise about one of the other female characters. Anywho, go see that, and then go see the Matrix sequel and tell me how it was, heh. I suppose that's about all for now...Maybe I'll actually do something to the website in a few hours.
Okay, so it hasn't been a few hours, but I remembered something I'd been meaning to do. I update the link to Sponge's official site on the Bands page, because they're finally doing stuff again! Oh happy day!
More news on the personal front that I just thought of. The 25th Annual Undergraduate Anthropology Conference was a smashing success, in my opinion. I met and talked with all of our speakers (Ruth Mace- University College London, Jane Hill- University of Arizona, Dean Snow- Penn State, and Francis Thackeray- Transvaal Museum, Pretoria). I even got to chat quite a bit with Francis Thackeray, who has to be one of the nicest men in the entire world. He was so gracious, polite, and so happy to be there. It was great. All of our speakers were great. AND I got to go canoeing. Maybe I'll put picts of the Conference up at some later date...

04/25/03 Quite the productive week I'm having here. Interesting, isn't it? Anywho, took a broken link off the links page, and added links to the blogs of two friends in my Latin class, Kyle and Brandon. I also added a link to a personality-type test, but I don't feel like putting the link here, so that all you lazy asses will actually have to utilize the links page for once. That, and I'm extremely lazy as well.

04/23/03 Well, well, I'm quite the little updater, aren't I? Diane Grey, this elite gymnast whose site I go to all the time, came to this site and signed my guestbook. I'm so proud. Yeah, I'm geeking out, but gymnastics is a great sport, and Diane is a great gymnast, so nyer. Maybe I'll add her page to my links...We'll see. I don't want to make it too obvious what a big nerd I am, after all. Hep. I also added my friends website, Crazy Small Living to the links page. It's extremely entertaining, not to mention informative for me, since I don't get to see those two whippersnappers often.

04/18/03 Wheeee, I didn't lose my job! Sadly, my buddies down in the office are vying with 25 candidates for 14 new positions that have been created to cover the loss of the 25 jobs they threw down the shitter. Cross your fingers that Thad and Damian get two of those jobs!

04/17/03 Hey, this every four months thing seems to be working out pretty well for me. :-P Anywho, not much to update, just felt like I should say something after such a long time. Updated some stuff on the ME page again, and a few little things on the Music page as well. I also took some busted links off that page, not like anyone used them.
School's still keeping me busy, but it's going alright. I've decided to tack on a Geology minor to my Anthro major, but NOT to double-major in Latin. I'd like to get my undergrad degree something within the next decade, thanks very much. And go to grad school in the glorious UK, where they have one-year master's programs...Um what else...I may lose my job because of this damn budget crisis at the U, damn Yudof and his million dollar bus huts all to hell!!...At least I'm not bitter, and that's the important thing.
Hmmm...Oh yeah, the 25th Annual Undergraduate Anthropology Conference is coming up, and since I'm the Publicity Chair of the Club, I've got lots o' work to do. It should be great though, we've got four excellent speakers lined up. If you're bored, check out The Anthropology Club's Official Website now for more information.

Oh, and I finally turned 21. Let the alcohol flow!!

12/12/02: Well, well, well...An actual update, after a mere four months. Good for me. Well, if you were in Andrea Berlin's Archaeology of Herodian Israel class, you wouldn't have time to update your webpage either. Anywho, just some links added: Real Ultimate Power because ninjas are TOTALLY SWEET, and The Misanthropic Bitch, who is just plain cool. Enjoy.

8/16/02: Well folks, today I added an update page. Whoopty freakin' doo. I changed the pict on the main page, changed the pict of me on the ME page...and that's all so far. I have also discovered that the colors I'm using for this page are completely blinding...and I think I like it.

I went to Ozzfest on the 11th. Rob Zombie, System of a Down, and Ozzy rocked my socks off. All the second stage bands pretty much blew, even Chevelle, which was sad because they were so good last time I saw them. Hatebreed, thankfully, still kicked bum.
Oh yeah, Googs and I might get a kitten. He's been whining for one for a while now, and I may just have to give in to shut him up. I also don't think I'd mind too much if there was a cute little ball of fuzz running around the apartment.
