Kata- Gojushiho Sho

- Step forward with your right foot into front stance while your arms do a downward assisted block.
- Step through with your left foot to the 11 o’clock position into back stance as your arms cross and do an outward tension block.
- Place you’re left foot infront of your right foot, then move your right foot into the 2 o’clock position into a right back stance. Arms cross and do an outward tension block just like in STEP 2.
- Left leg move into 11 o’clock position, body turns into a left front stance, left hand moves out across slowly, hand opened.
- Step forward (from there), do a right reverse punch, left stationary punch, and then step though right-front-kick, front punch (End up in a right front stance, right punch to the solar plexus area, facing the 11 o’clock position).
- Move right leg across over to the 1 o’clock position into front stance, right hand moves out across slowly, hand opened.
- Step forward (from there), do a left reverse punch, right stationary punch, and then step through left front kick, front punch (End up in a left front stance, left punch to the solar plexus area, facing the 1 o’clock position).
- Step back through the center with left foot, end up with a right front stance, right upward elbow strike to the 12 o’clock position.
- Turn body to the opposite side at the 6 o’clock position to a left back stance. While doing this, your hands are doing a right inside tension, knife-hand assisted block (right hand is doing the block, left hand is the assistant).
- Staying in the left back stance, cross arms (right arm on top), do a downward knife-hand chop with left hand and an inside knife- hand strike with the right hand.
- Step through to a right front stance, do a straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus while left hand is openly placed on your right elbow. Then, do a double straight armed knife-hand strike with left hand and then with the right hand (STILL STAYING IN THE FRONT STANCE).
- End up facing the six o ‘clock position in a right front stance with a right straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus.
- Turn body around to the 12 o clock position into a left back stance. While doing this, your hands are doing a right inside tension, knife-hand assisted block (right hand is doing the block, left hand is the assistant).
- Staying in the left back stance, cross arms (right arm on top), do a downward knife-hand chop with left hand and an inside knife- hand strike with the right hand.
- Step through to a right front stance, do a straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus while left hand is openly placed on your right elbow. Then, do a double straight armed knife-hand strike with left hand and then with the right hand (STILL STAYING IN THE FRONT STANCE).
- End up facing the 12 o’clock position in a right front stance with a right straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus.
- Spin body counter clockwise, do a 90 degree turn to the right, placing your left foot at the 3 o ‘clock position into horse stance (body is facing the 12 o’clock position.) During this move, your hands go straight out. When you land the horse stance, do a downward left knife-hand strike to the left side (head facing the 3 o’clock position, while still maintaining a good, solid horse stance), while the right hand is placed palm-up at the solar plexus.
- Cross over with right foot, step into horse stance (still going to the 3 o clock position). Arms then go straight infront of you ( body is facing the 12 o clock position), then pull hands straight back, placing both hands on the left side into a left-chamber-hand position. Then, do right downward knife-hand strike to the right side (head now facing the 9 o clock position) while the left hand is placed palm up at the solar plexus.
- Cross over with left foot, step into horse stance (still going to the 9 o clock position). Arms then go straight infront of you ( body is facing the 12 o clock position), then pull hands straight back, placing both hands on the right side into a right-chamber-hand position.
- Step to the 12 o clock position, left back stance, right arm inside tension knife-hand strike (just as before). Staying in the left back stance, cross arms (right arm on top), do a downward knife-hand chop with left hand and an inside knife- hand strike with the right hand.
- Step through to a right front stance, do a straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus while left hand is openly placed on your right elbow. Then, do a double straight armed knife-hand strike with left hand and then with the right hand (STILL STAYING IN THE FRONT STANCE).
- End up facing the six o ‘clock position in a right front stance with a right straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus.
- Turn back to the 12 o’clock position into a left front stance, and do a right ridge-hand strike to the temple.
- Step forward into right front stance, while doing this- your right arm is slowly moving, palm facing up. Before you land the right front stance, do a left ridge-hand strike to the temple.
- Next, as you step forward into a left front step, your left arm is slowly moving, palm facing up. Before you land the left front stance, do a right inside block (right hand crosses under left arm and does the block).
- Step through do a right front kick and pull your legs together in a cross-legged stance while your arms are in a preparation for down-ward block.
- Turn to the opposite side to the 6 o ‘clock position into a right front stance (head facing the 12 o clock position) and do a right down-ward block to the 12 o clock position.
- Switch into a back stance (still left-side forward). While doing this, your hands are doing a right inside tension, knife-hand assisted block (right hand is doing the block, left hand is the assistant). Staying in the left back stance, cross arms (right arm on top), do a downward knife-hand chop with left hand and an inside knife- hand strike with the right hand.
- Step through to a right front stance, do a straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus while left hand is openly placed on your right elbow. Then, do a double straight armed knife-hand strike with left hand and then with the right hand (STILL STAYING IN THE FRONT STANCE).
- End up facing the six o ‘clock position in a right front stance with a right straight armed knife-hand strike to the solar plexus.
- Pull hands straight out, turn 90 degrees to the right, body is turning counter clockwise, placing your left foot at the 9 o clock position into horse stance (body is facing the 12 o clock position, head is facing the 9 o clock position). Arms are requiring a left downward knife-hand strike to the side while the right hand is placed at the solar plexus.
- Cross over with right foot into a horse stance, left hand is going out in preparation for right punch. After punch lands right hand immediately does a downward knife-hand strike to the right side (head now facing the 3 o clock position) , left hand is placed at the solar plexus.
- Cross over the left foot into a horse stance. Right hand is going out in preparation for left punch. Left Punch.
- Step forward to the 12 o clock position into a right front stance, while doing a slow downward assisted block.
- Step back (still facing the 12 o clock position) into horse stance (body is facing the 3 o clock position), left arm is doing a hammer fist strike to the center towards the 12 o clock position.
- Step through with your right leg into front stance and do a font punch.
- Turn body to the 9 o clock position, pull legs to a ready stance position, while arms go straight out infront of you. Arms , then, retract to your hip. (Each fist is “glued” to each side of your hip).
- Turn to the 6 o clock position into a left front stance while still keeping your hands in that “glued” position.
- Step through to a right-side forward cat stance, arms swing over your head, cross in the front, and downward knife-chop on both sides of your body.
- Staying in this stance, pull arms infront of you in a tension-like position. Fingers are tightly together while index finger is pointed to designated target.
- Shift your stance forward and do a strike, still keeping fingers in same positions.
- Turn to the 12 o clock position in a left back stance, and do the right inside –knife-hand block.
