Kai picked up his headband and put on his coat. He began to walk away. Unbeknownst to him, his apron from Mr. Akama’s restaurant fell out. After everyone in the fight had gone into the school for their visit with the headmaster, a girl was walking by.

She saw Kai’s apron on the ground and picked it up.

Kai returned to Mr. Akama’s restaurant.

"Kai! You’re ten minutes late, what took you so long?" asked Mr. Akama. "Sorry uh, I got held up." said Kai making an excuse.

"Ah, never mind. Just get to work."

Kai reached into his pocket but found nothing. His apron and fallen out but, he didn’t want to waste anymore time looking for it. Kai continued his work without his apron.

A few hours later, Kai could hear children leaving school and walking home. Some of them walked by the restaurant. Kai was mopping the floor when a girl in a school uniform came into the restaurant. She seemed to be looking around.

"Can I help you?" asked Kai while he was still staring at the floor, concentrating on his work.

"No, actually I came here to return something." said the girl.

"Really? What is it?" said Kai

The girl reached into her school bag and pulled out Kai’s apron.

"Is this yours?" she asked, "You’re the only one without an apron"

"Yes it is, thank you very much." said Kai.

She handed it to him. Kai looked up his eyes shot open. The girl was beautiful. She had mystical brown eyes, rosy cheeks and flowing neck-length hair with a nice flower clip. She also looked very smart and she was obviously very kind since she had returned Kai’s apron.

Kai decided to say something just to make her stay a little longer.

"So um, how did you come across my apron?" asked Kai.

"I was walking in the school yard when I caught a glimpse of you leaving. Then I saw the apron on the ground. I figured you’d need so I decided to drop by and return it. " Said the girl.

"That’s very nice of you. I can get kind of clumsy at times." said Kai chuckling lightly.

"It happens. So you work here, ... um."

"My name is Kai. Yeah, I’m here visiting my uncle from another town and I thought I’d help him out." Kai said falsely. He did not want to tell her about his true past, as he wasn’t comfortable talking about it.

"It’s nice to meet you Kai. My name’s Ai. Well, I should be getting home now. It was nice meeting you, I’ll see you soon, bye!" she said.

Kai waved good bye as she left the restaurant. Kai seemed to be in a better mood having met Ai. He began to think about her. She was nice, that girl. Not to mention that she was pretty. He really hoped to see her again and learn more about her.

"Hey, Kai! Quit day dreaming, man!" said Sensuke as he smacked Kai in the head. "Mr. Akama wants the floor spotless."

"Yeah, ok." Kai got back to work but he couldn’t stop thinking about her. By the time Kai went to bed he was still thinking about her. It took him a while before he fell asleep.
