END OF A DECADE @ WHEATLY HIGHSCHOOL
I pulled up in the car with <3Jess and I saw Brett + Matt waiting for me to show up. We were all really anxious to play and couldn't wait for the show to start. I got a tour around the school while they waited for people to show up. As people were showing up and then instruments were being set up, each band randomly picked when they would play. We picked 6th. Ed's banded played first and continued to play as loud and as fast after one of the supervisors told Ed to stop screaming. Two more bands had taken the stage before Brett and I thought to get Matt's bass amp since the one that was supplied was very low and couldn't be heard over any of the other instruments. When we got back we were told we were playing after the teachers got off the stage. I readied my guitar and made one last run to the bathroom as the band set up. I plugged into the beautiful MesaBoogie Dual Rectifier HalfStack and tuned up. After giving a quick introduction we opended up with Autobiography of a Nation which in my opinion we played the tightest out of any song in our set. Next was Deadbolt and my strap fell off towards the end of the song so I had to play holding my guitar. Shit like that always happens to me. Cross Our the Eyes I think some people got up to sing along with us which was cool. The crowd didn't really get into us as much as last time which kinda sucked but we still had fun. We played Pretty Lush next, my favorite on our set. This song definatly had the most energy in it and probably the best one we delivered. After I got off and the rest of the band played Midwestern Stylings and then that was it. We prayed for a second round because we had no more second songs and luckily we got all the judges votes, eliminating a second round. Me and Ryan jumped around like little girls when we found out we won and that was pretty much it. We packed up our shit and left, and I lost my fucking cable there. Cocksmokers.
