The Autobots are the characters in transformers that are considered the good guys. As the Cival War goes on in cybertron, the Autobots find themselves losing, and that the energy supplies had gone down greatly. Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots takes his best warriors into space on the search for more energy. During a battle with the Decepticons, the Autobot ship, The Ark, crashed onto earth, and were dormant until a volcano eruption re-awakened them in 1984, four million years after the crash.
