The decepticons are the bad guys in Transformers. During the Cybertronian Cival Wars, they found that they needed better leadership, and created Megatron. Later on in the War, which they were winning, they persued Optimus Prime, and his warriors on their search for energy and ambushed them in an astroid field. During the battle they borded the Autobot ship,The Ark, and crash-landed in the ship with them. When an eruption re-awakened them, they left and made a seperate base on earth.
