Volume 6
Drum and his dragon army continue to blast Sfortzando with their cannons, and inside the castle Flute and Trom watch helplessly. Flute spots the mirror on the ground and picks it up, and it shows her visions from the first Sfortzando war. She at first sees Horn sending her as a tiny baby away, and outside in the real world the humans start to fight back. She is then shown a vision of Horn healing a dying man as his son cries beside him, and the small boy turns out to be the young Clari. Outside Clari leads the human troops into battle, though Drum decimates many of them with vicious swings of his enormous mace. Clari then goes in to do one-on-one battle with the dragon king and beats him around a lot while slamming his hand down onto the ground at random intervals.

Hamel and Raiel reach the house where they have been told that they'll find someone to fix the violin. This 'someone' turns out to be an old coot whose first act is to greet Hamel - by kissing him.
Later on - after Hamel is done crying blood - the old man (Olin) tells Hamel and Raiel that he was the one who originally built Pandora's box. In the background there's a cute picture of baby Hamel wrapped up in cloth and holding hands with another young baby...

Back in Sfortzando Drum is starting to get the upper hand and sends Clari flying. Clari slams his hand onto the ground one last time, and then casts a spell which reveals a magic circle surrounding Drum. He had been plotting the points of it (the hand-slamming) throughout the battle. All of the mazoku present are sucked down into the ground and everyone breathes easy for a second, but then a large dragon head appears from beneath the ground and grabs Clari in its jaws. Drum reappears and his dragons start to destroy what was left of the Sfortzando troops.
(Olin meanwhile is making a massacre of Hamel's violin and trying to get him into bed.)
Sizer's troops are meanwhile standing guard over their captured Sfortzando citizens, and one Phoenix punk decides that he wants to have a little fun and kill an old man and his grandson. Sizer casually slices him in half before he can go through with it, and her army stares at her in shock. The boy, ungrateful that Sizer's just saved his life, throws a rock at her and starts calling her a monster. The Phoenix army move in to defend their leader, but Sizer calls them off and then flies away.

Clari continues to get tossed around by Drum's dragons, but manages to free himself with help from Raiel who has summoned not his usual water spirits but a fire bird. The fire bird and the dragons start to do battle, and as Horn watches from within the castle Flute runs into the room. She tries desperately to call Horn 'mother' but can't get the word out, and a slash suddenly appears down Horn's front as Guitar bursts into the room. He pulls out a sword that transforms into a rabid wolf which then attacks Horn, and she attempts to wrestle it as Flute and Trom stare at the scene, paralised with fear. Watching her struggle, Trom is reminded of his own mother and her enormous sacrifice in order to save his life, and this gives him the strength to stand up and fight.

Volume 7
Trom's courage runs out as quickly as it came, and he resorts to trickery to defeat Guitar. Guitar doesn't fall for the 'dog food into the trap' or 'I'm just a telephone pole' plots, and slashes Flute down the front until Horn leaps in to shield her with her body. Trom then starts to actually attack Guitar with his sword, and hee fights well, but Guitar pulls out several of his special swords and Trom ends up lying on the ground, near death. Guitar moves back to Flute, but Horn continues shielding her and as Guitar goes in for a death stroke the wall shatters behind him and Hamel leaps in with a fully fixed violin.
After first mistaking Guitar's lower head for...something else (I'm trying to keep this site relatively clean. XD) the two start to fight for real. Hamel plays a powerful melody which smacks down into Guitar and breaks one of his swords. Guitar realises that losing might a possibility, and spies something far more interesting - Flute's cross. He cuts the chain, grabs the key to Pandora's box, and as he holds it up in triumph his arm suddenly goes flying. Sizer enters and grabs the cross from the arm which she so casually severed with her scythe. She and Hamel stare at each other for a long moment, but she flies off before either of them say anything. As Percuss watches Guitar fade back into the shadows Horn picks up Trom and heals the young boy. He, Hamel and Flute then jump out the window, ready to enter the main battle with Raiel and Clari against Drum.

Hamel and Raiel play a song together which restores the strength of the Sfortzando warriors, and everyone attacks at once. Clari blasts them with magic, the cannons fire, Trom attacks with his sword and even Flute manages to throw rocks. ^.^ Drum becomes enraged and his dragons grow in size until they tower over the entire kingdom. Hamel decides that an apology might be in order and begs Drum for forgiveness, which erupts in a good guy mini-fight that Horn eventually manages to break up. She tries to heal Clari, but he tells her to stop because he doesn't want her wasting her life span by using the healing magic. Flute, having only just discovered this, stares at her mother in shock. The group then go to attack together again as Sizer watches in amusement from above, and Guitar bandages his new stump.
Clari and Trom attack while Raiel and Hamel provide musical backup and it looks fairly evenly matched until spikes erupt from one of the dragons and spear everyone. Horn attacks with an incredible powerful magic blast, though it costs her a lot of strength. Just when it looks like Horn might collapse a magic circle appears around Drum and his dragons, and they are then in turn impaled by many large ice spears. The source of this attack - Lute, who has managed to break away from Bass' control long enough to help out his homeland defeat the dragon king. This gives the good guys their chance, and Clari leaps in with a huge spell amplified by one of his earrings, Trom attacks with his sword and Hamel goes semi-mazoku and punches him hard from above. A huge explosion erupts.

Volume 8
Everyone celebrates the defeat of Drum and the mazoku fortresses, on top of a building Sizer laughs madly and in Hameln Bass fumes. Within long Sfortzando is celebrating with huge parades and streamers and everyone is happy.
Drum is not quite as dead as everyone believes though. Lying injured in the woods he is startled by someone approaching, and it turns out to be Guitar. Drum's hopes rise as he believes that Guitar will help him, but Guitar slices him in half with his sword, killing him once and for all. He smirks as he licks Drum's blood off of the blade.

Flute is being prepared for her official introduction as the princess of Sfortzando, and as she enters the hall dressed up in royal finery Hamel stares, and then drops into a deep bow, apologising for any prior rudeness. Flute can't stand this sudden change in Hamel and runs away, and Raiel and Trom scold Hamel for his cruelty. Percuss then approaches Hamel with a huge briefcase of money in thanks for keeping Flute safe, and to get Hamel to be silent and leave. He takes the money which shocks Raiel and Trom, but he then tells Raiel to take it back to Flute's home town of Staccato and give it to the villagers there. Raiel agrees, and Trom then announces that he will be journeying back to Dal Segno briefly. The three agree to meet up later in the North, and after having a brief conversation with her mother Flute runs off to rejoin Hamel.

Sizer stands beneath Pandora's crystal in Hameln and looks sadly up at her, but is interrupted by Bass who is not terribly happy by her actions/inaction during the Sfortzando war. Sizer kisses Lute playfully on the cheek, laughs and leaves before things can get too ugly.
In Dal Segno Trom is busy being piled upon by the local kids, and Raiel passes over the money to the villagers of Staccato. Meanwhile Hamel has Flute dressed up yet again and is busy trying to scam money from villagers. They afterwards walk along and argue as Hamel reveals his next costume - an octopus - and they come across a strange fortune teller who addresses and offers to tell their future. She talks to them briefly, then swings the large cross sitting behind her and slices off the hands of a suspicious looking man standing behind them. He and his three companions rip off their disguise to reveal mazoku beneath, and although Hamel moves to attack them the fortune teller gets in first and starts beating them around with her cross. The mazoku are panting a little but otherwise fine, but the fortune teller then draws a magic circle in the air and blows them away - with very Sfortzando-ish magic. She then rips off the cloak to reveal - Cornet, younger sister of Clari! ^_^
Cornet's introduction is incredibly cute as she squeals and happily turns the villagers into cute heart/star/cupcake type things. She gives Flute a magic orb which allows her and Horn to talk to one another, and Horn gives them new information and informs them that Cornet shall be teaching Flute magic.

Sizer's fleet follow the signal of the cross, which leads them to a city named Slur.

Cornet goes on a fangirl high, explaining how she's been following Hamel's adventures for ages now. (and producing a bunch of VoH merch that technically shouldn't exist. XD) Hamel goes off for a while to find some food, and Cornet passes Flute a wand, telling her that if she uses it she'll create herself a beautiful dress and Flute decides to give it a go. She swings the wand and...becomes a cow. Cornet then reveals her evil plan to take Hamel all for herself, and the war between Flute and Cornet begins!
It doesn't start off too well when Hamel then comes back and tries to capture Flute for dinner.

(There's two little side-stories at the end, but I think I'll just stick scans of those up.)

Volume 9
Things continue badly for Flute as Cornet fantasises loudly about the beautiful princess Cornet winning the heart of Hamel, only to have the evil (and ugly! XD) witch Flute try to bring them apart. Flute returns in human form again with many spears sticking out of her body, only to have herself turned into a cow once again when Cornet manages to distract Hamel.
Flute remains cold towards Cornet as the magic training intensifies and her death starts to seem imminent...

Sizer has a shower and we see some signs of discontent with her life, and as she picks up a fallen feather and looks at it sadly. Raiel - hitching a ride on a wagon - looks at the feather that Sizer gave him when they met for the first time.
Flute tries to convince Hamel and Oboe that Cornet is out to get her, but Cornet wins them over with a big grin and dinner freshly made. Off to sulk, Flute picks up the crystal ball and watches Horn have a conversation with Clari about the consequences of using healing magic, which inspires her to continue with her 'magic training.'

In a new town Cornet tells lies to the local children and she and Flute get into more fights. Unfortunately for Cornet, Hamel pushes her attempts to flirt aside rather coldly and tears start to form in Cornet's eyes...
Suddenly a flash of light appears in the sky and an explosion rocks the earth. Inside the centre of the smoke is Clari, who immediately starts powering up and demanding that whoever made his sister cry show himself immediately. Cornet manages to calm him down - helped by the fact that he's exhausted from the teleport spell - and he explains that he always comes from wherever he is when someone makes Cornet cry. He then starts to gloat about how wonderful Cornet is and brag about all of her achievements while Hamel, Flute and Oboe make snide comments in the background, and then even challenges Hamel to a battle in order to get revenge for his dismissal of Cornet's feelings. Flute manages to change the subject before it can be taken any further, and Clari teleports away...returning seconds later with a scarf from Horn...then seconds later again with more gifts, and more gifts until Flute manages to convince him to stay for a while. She manages to get him on his own for a minute and asks him what it is that men really look for in a woman. Clari gives some...not too helpful advice (Clari fangirls, you'd better start calling him Clar-pyon and be prepared to give lots of gifts and hug a lot) and then finally leaves the group.
Flute tries Clari's nickname advice (Hame-chan), which results in Hamel getting a shock so large that he falls off a cliff. Her next move is to try Clari's gift giving suggestion, which is then beaten by Cornet's own gifts. Hamel finally gets sick and tired of their attention and yells at them both. He storms off, forgetting that he's wearing the cape with the large Cornet picture on the back.

Citern (the king of Slur) and Horn talk via video as Sizer's fleet arrives in Slur. The Slur troops start to fire upon the Hawk fleet and the mazoku start to panic. Sizer sits elsewhere on top of a building and watches with a bored expression on her face.
Hamel, Flute, Cornet and Oboe are now on a boat bound for Slur. Hamel manages to fish up Poseidon (XD Yes, that Poseidon) and prepares to cook him for dinner. Flute objects to this and Cornet kicks her overboard for the sharks to have her, but Flute manages to jump back up on deck with the Blue Thunder (large shark) across her shoulders victoriously. Hamel puts a blanket around her and tells her to stop overdoing it, which shocks Flute into complete silence. Cornet fumes in the background, only to find Blue Thunder with his jaws suddenly around her head. Flute ponders Hamel's sudden kindness as Cornet is tossed around in the background.

In Slur the battle is starting to look to be in favour of the humans, but just as the spectators in Sfortzando start to breathe easy Sizer enters the battle and the tables suddenly turn. She summons the Valkyries - now each with their own identity - and the eight of them leap into battle and start to decimate the Slur troops. (Yes, I said eight on purpose. See v11 for details on the ninth)
The royalty of Slur confront Sizer in order to put a stop to her distruction - Kokyuu, Gaita, Gong, Lyra and Show. Sizer doesn't look terribly impressed as Kokyuu announces his intention to avenge all the people she's killed in the past, and the five leap in to attack her at once. Sizer easily dodges, and then Gong opens up the covers over his body to reveal scores of missiles. He locks onto her and fires, but finds Sizer behind him the next instant, and she throws him into the path of his own missiles. One down, four to go.
The four of them display their own unique talents which catch Sizer a little off guard, but she comes back strong and slices Show into three pieces. With his body being made of extra-hard metallic wire this doesn't kill him and he wraps her up. Lyra then uses her stretchy rubber body in order to bind her to a wall, and the siblings hold hands as they prepare to sacrifice themselves so that Kokyuu and Gaita can kill Sizer. The two older brothers rush at her in a spiral of fire and blades, but at the last second Sizer pulls the cross out and holds it in front of her. Kokyuu and Gaita stop just before hitting her, staring at the key to Pandora's box, and give Sizer enough to time to grab her scythe and slice them all down. Kokyuu is still barely alive and he grabs Sizer's leg, but the Valkyries finish him off with their lances.
The Valkyries then surround Citern, who states that he will not hand over Pandora's box, even if it costs him his life. Sizer then pulls her scythe to her lips and starts to play one of Bach's Passions - Christ on the Cross. Realisation spreads across Citern's face and he tells Sizer where the box is, then asks her to kill him. Sizer swings her scythe...
Later she and Ocarina are standing on one of the Hawk Army ships. Ocarina talks a little, but is cut off as Sizer raises the blade of her scythe and cuts off most of her hair. (in mourning, I assume) She stares out into the distance with a melancholy expression on her face and clutches the cross tightly.

Volume 10
Sizer's entire Phoenix Army are gathered as Sizer finds Pandora's box. A high ranking phoenix congratulates Sizer on her great victory, but is interrupted as Sizer comments bitterly about her life of murder, and how she is cursed to forever be stained with blood as the red witch of Hameln. She clicks the cross into the lock on the box, then opens it up and sucks her entire army into it, airships and all.
Trom arrives in Dal Segno and talks cheerfully to a large portrait of his parents. He's surprised as someone approaches him, and it turns out to be the head of the Dal Segno guard, who managed to survive the devastating attack. He reveals that he was saved by none other than the Hawk King, Sizer!
Arriving far too late, Hamel, Flute and Cornet enter the ruins of Slur. Hamel and Cornet procede to loot the place, and even Flute joins in in order to compete with Cornet. They are broken up by the arrival of Clari, and the appearance of Horn in the crystal ball. They explain that the mazoku have both the cross and the box, and that with it they will be able to free Chestra. With that grim news the group leaves to put a stop it...taking a few souveniers along with them. ^.^

Sizer sits on top of a pile of empty mazoku armour in stunned silence, then starts to laugh bitterly about how she is destined to forever betray. Guitar interrupts her angsty moment, announcing that Bass had expected her to betray them. Sizer leaps to attack him, slicing through the Beast Army as if they were paper, and the two start to fight. Guitar taunts her, saying that she betrays everyone and is more devilish than the mazoku despite being an angel, and this enrages Sizer enough that she manages to get the upper hand. She knocks Guitar to the ground and leaps in for the finishing blow, but some mazoku shove Pandora's crystal in front of her blade and she stops just in time. She reaches out to the crystal, remembering when she saw her mother for the first time, and this gives Guitar enough time to stand up and slice her wings off with his sword. Sizer collapses, and Guitar licks the blood off of his blade before raising it again to deal the fatal blow. Suddenly he's attacked from behind by a huge whirlwind blast, and he turns around to see his attacker: Ocarina, now in human form! She wipes out a bunch of mazoku with her attack - Hou Ou Sen Pa - but as she goes to grab Sizer Guitar slices at her with his sword. Injured and realising that she can't do this alone, Ocarina flies off.

As Sizer and Guitar were doing fierce battle, Hamel and his group were doing some battling of their own - battling the fact that they're completely lost! After some very unimpressive magic from Clari, Cornet and Horn, Flute notices that Hamel is just a little too concerned about the delay in going north. She wonders if this is due to the fact that his father is sealed within the box...or if it could possibly have something to do with Sizer.
Suddenly Ocarina drops from the sky and makes one desperate plea: Please help Sizer-sama!!

The story is interrupted as Hamel comments that Ocarina is too scantily clad, and this somehow ends up with Hamel and Clari having a fight. Cornet jumps in to torture Ocarina by drawing all over her, and it all finally breaks up as Oboe apologises and informs everyone that Ocarina is the daughter of the former Hawk King - him! The shocks keep coming though as Ocarina then tells Hamel that Sizer, his twin sister, is dying. She begs them to help her.
Sizer is meanwhile bloody and chained to a cross. The irony does not escape Guitar. He gloats happily as Sizer accepts the fact that no one cares about her and will save her, and then Hamel and the group arrive, transported by Clari's magic. They attack the mazoku with magic and...tree trunks...but stop as they notice Sizer defenceless up on the cross. Several mazoku trace the points of lances around her face, then shove them into her chest. Everyone screams, but then music starts to play and Raiel appears on the firebird. He and Guitar start to fight, and then Guitar reveals his special ability: when he licks the blood of a foe from his sword, he can gain their special trait. Drum's dragons shoot out from his arm and large angel wings sprout from his back. Raiel is not impressed with Guitar using Sizer's wings, and starts to beat the crap out of him. Hamel joins in with his violin playing, and they start to beat Guitar back. Realising that he no longer has the upper hand, Guitar snatches Sizer from the cross and holds her in the mouth of one of his dragons. He picks up a sword with his other hand and swings it, but Ocarina grabs the blade before he can hit her. Again, Guitar finds himself in a bad position and plays his next card; threatening to kill Pandora.
After threatening his sister, this is the last straw for Hamel and the mazoku blood starts to take over. In a mad rage he starts to pummel Guitar into the ground, then turns and raises his fist in front of Pandora's crystal. The mazoku blood blinding him he rushes in to attack her, but pulls back as Sizer throws herself in front of the crystal.
"Stop...brother."
