Final Fantasy 7 was one of the greatest games of it's time. It captivated millions with the depth of the storyline and made the character's names memorable to fans worldwide. It was a few years ago when I had heard about there being a sort of sequel in the works to FF7 and I was psyched. Later on, in turned out that the sequel would be in the form of a movie instead of a game. That was a bit of a downer, but I wasn't going to complain. The movie was released in Japan on September 13th, 2005. Although it was supposed to have a worldwide to release to accomadate it's huge base of fans, it has yet to be released in America in an English form. So, me being as impatient as I am, got an import of it with some sub-titles. The following DOES contain spoilers, so if you don't want to know what happenes, then I suggest that you stop reading.

It's 2 years after the epic fight with Sephiroth. Cloud and his friends have since then spilt up and lived out their lives working towards their own personal goals. Cloud has been inflicted with a disease that came after Sephiroth used the Black Materia, the disease is called Star-Scar Syndrome, or Geostigma. The movie begins with the Turks investigating the Northern Crater where Sephiroth was defeated. Reno takes a helicopter down into the crater and hear screams from the other Turks. Reno and Rude barely escaped on the helicopter.

The movie jumps from there to Midgar, where Tifa is looking after the orphans that live with her. Cloud has left the place and has apparently been gone for sometime. His delivery service was once stationed here and a call has come in for him. It was Reno of the Turks. Tifa calls Cloud's cell phone, but only got a voice mail.

Kadaj, leader of the silver haired trio. From here, we go to Cloud checking his voice mail on his motorcycle. He takes off and the first real battle scene of the movie begins. The 3 silver haired men we saw in so many of those trailors make their first appearance here on their motorcycles. Their names: Kadaj (being the leader,) Yazoo, and Loz. The 3 have a conversation amongst themselves about "Brother" and "Mother." They see Cloud racing off through the canyon and they refer to him as "Brother." Yazoo and Loz are sent down to attack and Kadaj summons a group of creatures that look like Lions to begin the attack. Yazoo and Loz pursue Cloud on their motorcycles asking them the whereabouts of "Mother." Cloud fends them off only to be nearly beaten down by the creatures Kadaj summoned, but Kadaj called them off at the last moment.

The movie then cuts to Cloud riding his Motorcycle to what looks like a shelter, located in the woods. He is met there by Reno and the two of them of a little bit of a scuffle, until Cloud throws him out of the room they were in and locks the door. After locking out Reno, Rude and the infamous white-cloaked man in the wheel chair come out to greet Cloud. The white-cloaked man is Rufus. Rufus tried explaining to Cloud how he escaped from the building after the weapons attacked Midgar, but Cloud basically told him he could care less. They called Cloud here to try and hire him as a bodyguard against Kadaj and his gang. It turns out the Shinra were investigating the after effects that Sephiroth and JENOVA left behind in the Northern Crater and that Kadaj had interfered with their plans, but they escaped with something of great interest to Kadaj. Cloud declines Rufus' offer though, because he is only a "delivery man."
