Fantasy!

My other main point of interest would be fantasy and that expands a wide area of things, from faerie tales to mythology, to the art I save at home, to my favorite book series. Surely there are many many things in fantasy that effect my dreams and art itself, so let's start with the fantasy books shall we?

the juniper game
Juniper Game by Sherryl Jordan

Darkness...
Dylan leaned on the kitchen bench, staring out at the darkness, holding onto the bench as though a huge weight was pushing him from behind. There was sweat on his face, and he breathed in deep gasps, as if he were in pain and terrified.
He gave a cry, "Juniper!"
And then he covered his face with his arms, leaning forward over the running water and the swirl of blood in the sink, and he screamed.

Dylan has never seen anyone as beautiful as Juniper. There is something magical about her. Something unreal. And he would do anything for her. Anything. But Dylan doesn't exist in Juniper's perfect world.

Until the day when Juniper does notice Dylan. Sees him for the person he really is - and for his special gifts. What Dylan doesn't know is that Juniper wants to play a game. A powerful game that alters the future and the past. A game where there are only two rules: life and death.

Magic Shop Series by Bruce Coville
 1)   The Monster's Ring:   It all starts when Russell Crannaker buys a "monster's ring" from weird old Mr. Elives. Russell is sure the ring is just a silly magic trick - but he follows the instructions anyway, and slips it on his finger. Then he whispers the magic chant, twists the ring once, and suddenly he's sprouting horns! Hair covers his face and hands. Russell has become… a monster!

Russell quickly learns how to change back and forth from human to monster. But he hasn't paid enough attention to the instructions, and when he puts on the ring on the right of a full moon, and twists it three times, Russell realizes he's gone too far… A monster is loose in Kennituck Falls.

2)    Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher:
"She was just a little dragon… until she grew, and grew and grew… "
The adventure begins…

If Howard Morton and Freddie the Frog Killer were trying to hold you down so that Mary Lou Hutton could kiss you, you might run as fast as Jeremy Thatcher did the day he stumbled into Mr. Elives' Magic Shop.

And if you stumbled into that strange shop, you, too might be asked to make a choice. What would you buy? The Chinese rings? The Skull of Truth? Or the dragon's egg?

And if you did buy the dragon's egg, what would you do when you found out you were supposed to hatch it?

3)  Jennifer Murdley's Toad:

Jennifer Murdley had no idea what she was getting into the day she bought the big toad from the strange man who ran Elives' Magic Shop. The thing didn't even start talking to her until she had it out of the shop.

And once the toad did start to talk, it still kept a lot of secrets. So Jennifer didn't find out about his strange birth… or the treasure hidden in his forehead… or the witch who was out to get him… until she and her friends were in more trouble than they ever dreamed of!

4) The Skull of Truth:
When Charlie Eggleston stumbles into Mr. Elive's mysterious magic shop, he's just looking for a phone so he can call his parents.

What he finds is a wise-cracking skull that leads him into the adventure of a lifetime. Along the way, Charlie will learn some unexpected lessons about truth, love, friendship, and bad haircuts.

And what he finds at the end of his journey, not even the Skull of Truth could have anticipated.

Besides that, I also love fantasy creatures and artwork as well, so I decided to post some here: (Trying to put information on these creatures would take days being there is a different story for every part of the world, and doing just one would not do them justice.)
