Assignment Number One: Virtual Frog Dissection Using the following site, www.froguts.com/flash_content
You
will be virtually dissecting a frog specimen, upon reaching the site,
click on the frog button at the top of the page, that will take you to
the actual dissection. Once there, you may have to wait for it to load
but when it is finished, do as instructed and click the start button to
begin. On the side of the frog, from there it will tell you which tools
to select to dissect the frog, in text that changes as you complete
each new command it tells you to do.
At first you'll pin the frog so it doesn't move, then using the scapel,
you'll cut the frog horizontally and vertically on the top and bottom
and then sadly opening it's skin on it's chest to pin them down.
Using the scissors, you will cut open it's muscle layer, three
times,(again horizontally and three times vertically) then pull the
abdominal flaps off and pin them as well, followed by opening the chest
flaps and pinning them.
You'll then pull away the fat bodies, then click on the main six organs
to discover them before you are finished.
This assignment is likely for a future actual dissection, and is only
showing you how.
Assignment
Number Two: NASA Pangea Word
Search Using the following site for you your next
homework project, www.nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/9-12/features/index.html
you will be doing a online interactive word search of Pangea. When
arriving on the site, if you look to the upper right box under related
media, the very first interactive program would be the word search,
click on the image to open another box to continue on.
At the word search page, your job is to find the 17 words listed that
are connected to the subject "Continental Drift". The words can be
horizontal, diagonal, vertical, and backwards.
To select a found word, click on the beginning word and drag around the
surrounding word and let go. Every time you find one and select it,
that word will disappear from the list at the right. Continue on till
you have found every single word.
Once finished, print off your done copy to take to the teacher.
Assignment
Number Three: Pulse Jet Project: The Gokart
For the last assignment, click the following link: aardvark.co.nz/pjet/gokart.htm
The site follows the building project done by a student of a puse jet
Go Kart.
The only real assignment here I believe, is reading the article and
following along about at home science attempts and prehaps writing a
paragraph summary over it all.
