Updates

  04-19-05

After several months of inactivity, the MOT website has finally been updated. Unfortunately, this is the only thing I can update at the moment, as my access to GAFF and most other SONPS-related sites has been terminated by our good friends St. Bernard Software and the Computer Nazis. So, if per chance you have sent me a message in the past month, I haven't yet gotten to read it, and probably won't be able to for another month or so. So please be patient, and I promise I will try to get back to you as soon as humanly and physically possible.
My only connection to the "outside world" at the moment is Hotmail, so you'll have to contact me there. (My email address is posted all over this site; if you can't find it, you're not intelligent enough to be sending me messages in the first place.)
With the self-indulgent and needless info out of the way, we now have time for the many useful updates:

- We have a new member, Demon of Light, whose profile is now posted on the SONPS member page. Welcome her, damn you.
- A new site format and layout should be expected sometime in the next few months. This includes new features, color scheme, navigation, images, sourcing, etc. The revamp, once completed, should fix several bugs in the formatting and layout, such as the annoying banner problem. We will also have several new features, listed as the following:

- Kabuto's Healing Hands: an "Antidote" page, linking to outstandingly good Naruto fan fiction located on sites other than FanFiction.net.
- MOT Glossary: A basic glossary defining obscure terms and acronyms used throughout the MSTs and this site. (E.g. snark, IIRC, wank, etc.)
These plans are severely subject to change, and should be considered vague estimations. Construction will not begin until I regain access to my own computer account.
- The frontpage poll has been updated, with a new subject of "Which of the following MSTed fics is the over-all worst / most unbearable?" The format's revamped now, as you may have noticed, so it's now much... prettier. The coding has displaced the counters, however, and I'm not entirely sure how to fix this. So we'll just have to deal with the literal center-alignment of the counters until I figure something out.
- The links have been updated, so now they actually work. I have also added links to the other SONPS and MOT related sites and communities, so please check it out.
- The Disclaimer on the Credits page has been updated, since I'm in no position to be sued. It's been divided into two sections: the basic disclaimer for lazy readers, and the nitty-gritty details for the anal-retentive readers. Please take a few seconds to read through it, for our sake and yours.
- I'm still working on the banner problem. Hopefully, with the upcoming site revamp, I can have this fixed, but until then, the refresh button usually sorts things out.

I'm relatively certain that that's all I have to say, but if it's not, there's always tomorrow's update.

Good news! Both the MSTs of SotHL and the new chapters of AKRM have been completed! The formatting is still under construction, however.
We are now trying to MST the infamous "The Pink! She Must Die!" Unfortunately, we haven't been having much luck with it, as it seems to be rather devoid of snarkable lines. We have a couple posts on it, but so far, we're far from finished.
In other news, you may have noticed a lack of updates on both the site and in the forums. Our only explanation is that SONPS and MOT have been put on hiatus for a bit. While the amount of time that will be put off is uncertain, I promise that we will get back in gear in time. In the mean time, the site's staff will be working rigorously to complete the pile of unformatted MSTs and site upgrades. Thank you for your patience.

We have two new members, Catalyst and TopazAmaranth. Some may recognize them from exploits in the Naruto section of ff.net.
We also have some other excellent news: the Sacred Scrolls C2 Community is now visible on ff.net! (Apparently, more than ten fics are required to be listed in the archive in order to be listed.) We've also got a lot of new stories added to the archive, and a couple new fics added to the account of Forbidden Scrolls.
In other news, the MST of SotHL has been put on hold until interest returns and our members find more time and patience. Meanwhile, the MST format for BoMA has been edited to flow more smoothly, and Beggar is soon to be reformatted as well. Feedback on this new layout is very much appreciated.
Lastly, we have a few more banners and links posted in the link page now. Saving the images is still preferable, but as soon as we can get a code up there we'll let you know.

It's been a while. Comparatively, anyway. Our latest updates include:
- More stories added to the Sacred Scrolls archive.
- New member Rebecca Hb. is still in the process of being initiated. Say hi, everyone!
And the big one:

- We have our very own MOT forums! Granted, they are rather fragile, but it's better than nothing. The link is on the directory bar above, and everyone is welcome. Even the hellfans.
Except you, Summons. You're just not special enough. ;)
The MST of "Secret of the Hidden Leaf" has been put on hold due to issues in the SONPS members' outside life. It's should be back in business in a few weeks.

Work on the "Beggar" MST has been put on halt until further notice. We've had way too much to do lately, so anything that can be spared, will be.
The "Secret of the Hidden Leaf" MST has been trudging along, but we're more than half-way finished. By the end we may have to make an annual "Kei Award" ceremony. Worst fan fiction of the year gets a prize...
IkanBiru and others are currently working on a C2 Community on FF.net, called "Sacred Scrolls" but for some reason we aren't showing up on the Naruto C2 page. The administrators have been notified, so as soon as it's visible, we'll post it on the Home page. We have a SONPS community on LiveJournal, started by superme. It's an open community, so anyone is free to join.
We're also working on a new feature, a Glossary page. Unfortunately, it's still under construction, so what you see now is far from the finishing touches.
We have been somewhat busy trying to find a new host, one that will give us some lenience on the content and advertising issues, but so far Angelfire has been the best choice. We may or may not be installing web polls and forums, but this is still waiting to be decided.

We're finally back from a 20-day sabbatical, and already getting to work on the next fanfic.
Thanks to our new member superme, we have uncovered quite a horrific gem known as "Secret of the Hidden Leaf." As always, you can check out the progress on our MOT thread. The Beggar MST is still being worked on. It should be finished by Monday. The AKRM MST is finished, and ready for editting. It should be done in a week or so.

Due to unavailability, the Beggar MST is still being edited for posting. The point at which it will be finished is unclear.
The "Amara Kagome, Replacement Mom" MST is nearly finished. Now if only the author would stop posting new chapters...
In other news, we have a new member, Kyuubi no Kitsune, and a returning member, Lexkixass. You'll probably be seeing much more of them in the near future.

The full-color Blood of My Aneki MST has been posted as our very first Mystery Orochimaru Theatre post. Individual colors were added for clarity and variety.
The "Beggar" MST has also been completed, but has yet to be posted on MOT. Again, the raw material can be found on the MOT Boards (see link in previous update), starting on the second page.
Hopefully the "Beggar" MST will be posted here by the end of the week.

The next fan fiction being MSTed is "Amara Kagome, Replacement Parent." It's rather long, so the end-point is cloudy.

The "Blood of My Aneki" MST has been completed. You can see the pure substance of the MST in the MOT thread, or you can see how we're coming along with editting it in the MST section.
We have also completed the MST for "Beggar," which should be up in a few days. You can see that in the MOT thread as well.
We have two new members, IkanBiru and Fujiwara no Sai. They will be added to the SONPS Bio page shortly.

Alright. The entirety of the site is up and running. There shouldn't be any bugs in the system, and all of the links should work now. We've got three new members, Eli-kun, denimjo, and Natural Cyber. The very first MST should be finished very soon, and will be posted in the MST section upon completion. It should only take another few days.

This is the model 2.0 layout for the Mystery Orochimaru Theatre. Thank yous to Black Pearl for the encoding. The site is still under construction, however, so some links and images may not work. However, the site should be bug-free before this weekend.
