Physical Appearance: Brown hair around her shoulders, brown eyes (in manga, in anime they are grey) and rather pale skin. Around Five Foot Five in height and wears pinks, greens and other colours but wears girly outfits. Kagura is never seen without her orange cat back pack.

Boar Physical Appearance: A brown small boar which Tohru is able to hold in her hands.

Personality: A kind, carefree and lovable girl who shows her emotions in a way that everyone would wish she wouldn’t... Kagura shows her love for Kyo by turning into a demon and hurting him, easily beating him up. She also is very kind; she went and got Isuzu’s graduation papers for her when she was in hospital.

History: When Kagura was younger she lived with both her parents who got into constant fights, yelling and shouting which made Kagura sad. She used to hate her life and think there was no one worse off than her. Then she met Kyo. Her fondness for the cat was over the fact that he was worse off than her and she took pity on him. Kagura played with Kyo and they were friends... until one day she asked if she could try on his beaded bracelet.

Disaster stroke, Kagura saw Kyo’s demon cat form and ran away in tears. She vowed to herself that she would try and be friends with Kyo as she was really sorry for him... but Kagura found herself falling in love with Kyo for real. She was always very pushy and she found herself with an anger problem. She even held a boulder over Kyo’s head and made him agree to marry her.

Kyo went for fighting lessons at Kazuma’s dojo and Kagura also tagged along. She wanted to be as close to Kyo as possible – this is what got Kagura her great fighting skills. While she was there she grew up with Yuki and Haru also (Haru calls her Kagura-nee.) Kagura uses these skills in her demon form when she threatens Kyo.

Later Kyo goes to live with Shigure; Kagura at this time is eighteen. She goes to see what Kyo is up to and why he hasn’t called her. While she is there she meets the one and only Tohru Honda and finds her as her ‘love-rival’. Tohru seems to like Kagura and admires how she only sees the good in Kyo. Kyo doesn’t really want to see Kagura, he tries to run away but Shigure stops him. Kagura immediately gets violent. She even rips to shreds his favourite shirt and attempts to make tea.

Then it’s Valentine’s Day and Kagura meets Kyo outside Kaibara High School and gets demonic again and chases him as he tries to get away. Kyo wants to know why Kagura is there – when they finally get to Shigure’s house. Kagura answers with: “Today’s Valentine’s silly, it’s a special day for lovers to get together.” And Kyo replies to himself. “You’re not going to find any lover in this house.” Kagura attempts to give Kyo a – chocolate valentines heart stuck full of her love... yet he refuses. Only when Shigure goes on about not accepting a woman’s gift makes him less than a man then Kyo finally eats Kagura’s chocolate. Kagura is happy after that.

As Kagura leaves Shigure’s to take the rest of the chocolate that Tohru has to give everyone with Shigure, she tells Kyo how Haru has told her that Kyo and Yuki are sort of getting along now. Kagura also says if they become friend’s one day then she’d be happy. We here learn that Kagura and Haru at least talk and get along with each other outside the readers and viewers eyes.

Later on, Kagura sees Kyo and tells him her secret, the reason why she really loves him. She starts crying as she tells him and after discussing her past, Kyo hugged her and thanked her for being a ‘sister’ to him. We also know that Kagura lives with Isuzu “Rin” Sohma. Rin has told Kagura previously that it hurts to watch her love for Kyo and she could have been one of the reasons why she had told Kyo.

After telling Kyo this Kagura goes home crying and she rushes up to her room, past her mother and she also sits on her window bench and looks out the window remembering something.

It appears that Kagura is a friend for Rin, even if she doesn’t seem to appreciate it. Kagura did get Rin’s graduation papers at the ceremony for the college and she discusses this with Shigure and Hatori when they talk about how Rin is doing in hospital.

When Tohru finds out about Kyo’s secret, Kagura is also there – but instead of running after him after he transforms, Kagura let Tohru go after him and shown how much she really loved Kyo by letting him go. Shigure asked her if what she was doing was right and she just closed the curtains as Tohru ran off after Kyo in the rain.

This is so far all we know about Kagura but we are sure that she will be played out more in the next chapters of Fruits Basket/Furuba – or so we hope anyway.
