Chapter 2

A/N-Each chapter will be from a different character’s point of view. This one is in Tanokai’s PoV.

I woke up. Fae and Mayumi were up already. I guess they made breakfast. A little bit away to my left was Chipou. He was sound asleep. Mayumi noticed me and said, “Good morning, Tano.”

Half yawing, I tried to greet her, “Gooh morry…”

I meant to say good morning. Seeming to know what I meant, Mayumi resumed getting ready for breakfast. I walked over to a river not that far from where we made camp and washed up.

When I returned, Chipou had woken up. As usual, he didn’t talk much, or do anything for that matter, until he had a good meal. We ate in silence. At the end of the meal, I said, “May, your cooking gets better every time.”

She blushed a little, “It’s not like any of you can cook.”

Chipou chuckled, “Maybe Fae can cook.”

I saw her edge back, “I’m not very good at anything.”

We packed our stuff up and headed out. Not that far from Tipa Bay, a place near Tipa that Fae had probably never seen, we met a group of travelers. The weird thing was that they were not Caravaners, or monsters, but Moogles. Four of them to be exact, three were male, and one was female. I recognized them immediately.

One male was Bam, a good friend of Chipou. Bam and Chipou used to live in an all Clavat village and were very close friends. When that town’s caravan failed, only Bam, Chipou and the other caravaners survived. Since he is from a Clavat town, most people believe that Bam is peaceful. However, he is far from it. Bam will do anything he can to get into a fight, especially one he believes in. Being a Lilty, I am only slightly taller than a Moogle.

Another male Moogle was Oogie. Besides Links, Oogie is my best friend. We have fought together for more years than Fae has even lived. I regret the day I must leave Oogie to return to Tipa and deliver the Crystal Chalice, yet it is something I must do yearly. Other than that, Oogie never leaves my side.

The female was Lan. A few years ago, she and May met. They’ve been best friends ever since. They don’t really like to fight, but hate the Miasma. Usually, Lin carries the challis.

The last Moogle was Click. He hadn’t been the same since Links died. Click and Links used to be best friends. Since that day, Click just stares out into space. Today, however, Click seemed somewhat happy.

As the Moogles got closer, Click flew ahead of the other three and knocked me to the ground. The chalice flew out of my hands, but luckily, Chipou caught it. Click said, “Look, guys, it’s Tano!!!”

Oogie came over and game me a big hug, “Tano, Tano, Tano!!!”

Lan and Bam greeted Chipou and Mayumi. I noticed Click say to Fae, “Who’re you?”

She replied, “I am Fae.”

Click and Fae continued talking. I didn’t quite hear what they said because I continued to hug Oogie.

Diary!!!

Today, we found Oogie, Lan, Bam, and Click for the first time this year. I hope that they decide to travel with us again. They always do. Oogie was almost and inch taller than this time last year. The little guy is growing like a weed!!!

I… I miss Links. He was my best friend. Maybe Fae can be like him, but I doubt it. She really wanted to travel with us. I just know that Links would have let her… Nothing is the same without him. Chipou probably doesn’t care much, but May and I have known him since we were little kids.

May, she, well, I think she liked Links, but I’m not going to ask her. She hasn’t really been the same, either. Sometimes, though, I see her talking to Fae and Mayumi acts

like her old self. How can a young Selkie do what I, a full-grown Lilty cannot?

End Diary!!!

That night, the Moogles startled us. Lan said, “I’m having a baby.”

We stared at her in disbelief. Our little Lan was going to have a baby? This was unreal. I felt like crying tears of joy, but knew that no self-respecting Lilty would ever cry in front of anyone else.

A/N-I hope you liked this chapter. I’ll try to make chapter 3 soon.
