It's been 15 years since the Angels attacked. NERV is a secret organization to protect everyone from the Angels. NERV is the key to rebuilding the world, a fortress for all mankind. Normal weapons have no effect on the Angels, so NERV created Evangelions, or Evas to destroy them. Only chosen 14 year olds are able to pilot them. Evas are man's ultimate humanoid fighting machines, mankind's last hope. "The Angels are composed of a type of matter characterized by both particulate and wave form properties, not unlike solidified light...Although they are composed of different forms of matter, their actual composition in terms of the arrangement and coordinates of the pattern, fall within a 99.89% match of a human being." - Ritsuko Every time an angel interacts with the humans, they learn more and get smarter. For example, every time NERV uses the Evangelions to fight an Angel, the Angel learn a little and the next Angel that attacks is even stronger and smarter. |
