Fun Stuff

who said show dogs can't have fun!

Sasha loves to run in the eskie races.

Sasha was my very first show dog, although not my first Eskie. I found my very first American Eskimo while I was living in Texas and going to college. A friend of mine kept telling me about this white dog that was terrorizing the apartment complex where she lived. I thought to myself that I was new in town and could use a companion. I volunteered to take in this so called white devil, and we hit it off from the start. I named her Mariah and she was my loyal companion for the next 14 years. Even after losing numerous pairs of shoes, one couch and a chair I still loved this dog dearly. I never knew that a dog could have so much energy all of the time.  It was on the anniversary of September 11th in 2002 that  Mariah's heart could beat no more. I still feel the pain of that devastating day when I had to say goodbye to her, but send her off to a much better place.  At this point I had caught the bug, and had to get another as fast as possible!

As you can see I picked up not one, but two Eskie puppies from a wonderful breeder located in Woodinville, Washington.  My husband and I brought  Atlas and Sasha home in October of 2002  from Mystic American Eskimo dogs. I did not know what I had gotten myself into. Yes, they did sleep from time to time and boy was I grateful. At this time the only thing I knew about a dog show was what I had seen on Animal Planet. I said that I would like to learn more about it and even showed up one day with a 9 month old bitch in season wondering if she could still show.  Well she did show and got two first place ribbons and a Best Female. I was really hooked, and wondered when the next show was.  Sasha and I hit the circuit with a bang going to as many shows as possible in the Pacific Northwest area.  She earned her UKC GR Ch title on July 4, 2004 at The Washington Classic.

Thank You Dr. Everett K. Mincey!

Sasha earned her AKC CH title on May 8, 2005 by winning Best of Winners, a 4 point major.  I am very proud of her accomplishments!
