Plot
The 16th Century was one of many centuries when women were not thought of highly.
A woman is assumed weak and inferior to the man. That is what society has been teaching the
people. Not that Joan cares what society thinks anyways. Joan McBrodie, daughter of Seth and
Uma McBrodie and sister to five, is a strong, independent girl, who makes her own decisions.
She is one of many girls during this time that shows that girls are more than just china dolls.
