Hello Kitty was created by Shimizu Yuko, a designer of the Sanrio Company of Japan, in the 1960's.
Hello Kitty is a white, mouthless female kitten who lives in a seemingly perfect world. Kind, friendly and impossibly cute.
Hello Kitty lives in London, England, with her parents and her twin sister, Mimmy. They have lots of friends at school, with whom they share many adventures. Her hobbies include traveling, music, reading, eating yummy cookies ... and, best of all, making new friends.
Although Sanrio had been producing Hello Kitty products since the 1960s, in the mid-1980s Hello Kitty mania swelled and she became one of the most prominent and recognizable Japanese characters, found on everything from handbags to bath towels.
