Angel and His Mom

Angel is a Umbrella Cockatoo. He stands tall at 16 inches. His hatch date is May 23, 2001. He was bought home with me on September 24, 2001. Ever since then life has been a joy with Angel. Some days get hard and frustrating, but it's all worth it. He's like a little baby that needs to be taken care of all the time and has to have constant attention. He loves to play, scream, talk, eat, and take baths! His favorite word is "Peek-a-boo" and sometimes he likes to sing! He is so cute and adorable, and loves kisses. He loves to be cuddled and played with. Sometimes he even likes to sleep with mommy! :)

Angel loves to play with his Nana, and turns into alittle baby everytime she comes into the room. Sometimes, Angel likes his Aunty. Aunty was afraid of Angel the first time we got him. And Angel likes to tease Aunty. Now they are use to each other and get along somewhat. ;) One person Angel could never get along with is his Little Uncle. Little Uncle doesn't know or understand about Cockatoos so he sometimes does things that irritate Angel. So Angel is always fighting with Little Uncle.

Sometimes, Angel get's to go outside. When the weather is warm enough. We put him in a carrier and place it in a shopping cart and drive him around! His own limo driver! lol! He loves it though. In the house, Angel likes to follow Momma around where ever she goes. But he can't come with me all the time, so Nana babysits him. Momma, is a Part-time student in College. I only have classes in the morning, and am home by lunch time. When I come home, Angel get's so excited! His crown goes up and he starts to displaying shouting, "Hello, How are you?!" Then we eat lunch together and play for the rest of the afternoon.

Angel doesn't like to talk all the time, only with certain people. He will not utter a word when strangers are around, although he likes to be real noisy and likes to peek at strangers everynow then, getting scared when they peek back. Then he runs to me and starts to peek back! :) He likes to stare out the window alot and fight with the pigeons outside that are always hanging around! Angel doesn't like it much when the Parakeets are let out of their cages to play. He screams at them to get off his cage! Oddly though, he doesn't mind the Canary flying about. Probably because their is only one of him! lol! :)

Angel's diet consists of a variety of seeds. His favorite being Pumkin seeds, and Sunflower seeds. He eats a variety of Fruits and Vegetables. His favorite being Apples, and Corn. :) He also likes to eat bread, pizza, pasta, oatmeal, rice, green beans, broccoli, beans, (all types), cheese, chicken (sometimes), peas, millet, babyfood, etc.

Angel loves to take baths. He usually takes baths 3 times a week, and is sprayed with water once a day. After a bath he turns into a little baby because he knows afterwards he'll get cuddled with the towel! One time Nana gave Angel some pasta...with sauce! He had to take another bath, but he didn't mind. The pasta was worth it! lol!
