Ripcords:

There are a few different types of ripcords availible to us Beybladers. The regular, the Dragon, and the Neo Dragon.

This is the plain ripcord. It comes with many starter sets. It is relatively short, and is the least powerful of the ripcords. These are for inexperianced players, or for backups. Most Beybladers have one of the more advanced ripcords.

This is the Dragon ripcord. It comes with a few starter sets, and the Japanese OTC Accessory Set. This ripcord allows for a better grip, and is longer than a normal ripcord. And for all those nitpickers who want to count the teeth on this picture, don't this ripcord has snapped, and has been fixed.

This is the Neo Dragon ripcord. This is just like the Dragon ripcord as shown above, but is slightly different. The handle is twisted 90 degrees, as shown in the photo below.

How to straighten ripcords

Tired of all those 'useless' bent ripcords in your collection that break, snap, jam, bind, and mess up your launcher. Look no more, read on to find out how to fix your ripcords.

1. Fill a sink with really hot water. Be careful, you need the water just beyond your tolerance to heat.

2. Dip the ripcord (not the grip, only the section with teeth) into the sink.

3. Sit for 10-15 seconds.

4. Remove from water.

5. Begin straightening your ripcord. You need to overbend your ripcord to straighten it.

6. Once you are satified with the straightness. Flush with cold water.

7. Dry with a towel *gently* (the cord is still somewhat soft after the heat).

8. Let sit for 10-20 minutes.

9. Let it rip!

This makes your ripcord so straight that it won't cause any friction inside your launcher. This makes your launch speed faster. This also increases the life of your ripcord from less friction if you can do it right.
