Chirin tried to focus his gift towards it, and he had some success, although he was moving away from it and that hampered him. There were limits to what he could sense with it even after the experience he had gained with its use. All he knew was that one of the passages definitely led somewhere high...high enough to tax his gift as he reached up higher and further with it. He was searching for something that would allow them to use it as an escape hatch...an opening to the outside world. 8067 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Thu Feb 27, 2003 7:05pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "raychuloungerat " wrote: > > Sindos got the feel of icy fingers curling about his throat. Lentiago snorted and walked a bit shaking his head, Blackadar stood knowing what wasa expected but, he really didn't want to do any of this. He charged at Lentiago and the ram ducked down to meet his attack. Chirin looked around the company. He was expected to fight with them? This was ridiculous...if they were just going to be told to try and kill each other in the end, what was the point in training right now? The rams were a mix of ages and bloodlines. Some tall, some short, some young and some older. Sindos was a tall young ram...the only one who appeared to even come near Chirin's match in a duel, either larger or smaller. He flicked his lights to Sindos, as if to cue him in. He'd be his partner...the only problem was, when to stop. Ram battles were decided in only a few strikes usually, although they could go much longer. He would treat this like a friendly spar. And while he did so he studied the ledge that ran along the upper cave wall. Huntkos would stand somewhere around there...he sought openings, entrances. Did Huntkos use the entrance they had or did he use a different one? How did he get up there if he used this entrance down here? ____________________________________________________________________ This message was sent from my Palm wireless email account. 8110 From: JLB king_brahma@yahoo.com Date: Fri Feb 28, 2003 11:32am Subject: Re: A new day. Out in this open arena, something else troubled him altogether. The spirits of those killed in the fights. He didn't know if they would take sides with him, but they would almost certainly side against Huntkos. While he was here he had to explore those holes. At least one was used by huntkos...and with his electric gift he could explore some of it. Before he got a lan he had to do all he could to learn the cave system. That would be what the plan would be founded on. Chirin flashed his lights almost playfully; had they been free, that would have signalled play-fighting. It would've been fun if they had been free. he bounced back, feeling an edge of the desire for conquest that was buried deep inside every ram. Yet...his mind kicked in and he remembered all over the futility and inanity of it all. Really, he suspected that these little training sessions were just to give the rams the chance to burn off energy. Although, why would they want to do that? He kept his gift moving through those tunnels. they all led back, one of them led to the side and turned into a bunch of other caves. He was dimly aware of living beings down those caves, but the farther his gift reached the less focused it became. The last tunnel sloped downward, heading into the depths or who knew where, and branching into a number of caverns. Way far below that...where his gift's limits were reached and tailed off, he sensed an unrest of mother Megga. 8120 From: JLB king_brahma@yahoo.com Date: Fri Feb 28, 2003 2:05pm Subject: Re: Bringing in the flock. Chirin was pretty sure that he had already found what he needed to in order to put a plan in place, at least lay down the framework for it. He just needed to know more about where that deep tunnel went, and then, on his way back, he needed to use his gift to figure out where that upper tunnel led to, the one that joined the underground water. The spirits could help him. Yes! His gift could not travel that far from him without his taxing himself too much right now, but a spirit could fly down there and see for itself where the tunnel led. 8132 From: JLB king_brahma@yahoo.com Date: Fri Feb 28, 2003 3:38pm Subject: Re: Bringing in the flock. He flashed his lights. 8212 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 2:44pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "raychuloungerat " wrote: > > That ram was so cocky, Chirin would show him! He would slam him harder this time! He mi still only be 3 and not really heavy yet but he was not going to lose to this jerk. A real *gundah* didn't rub it into the flock that he was dominant. 8213 From: raychuloungerat ghostcatcher@prodigy.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 2:49pm Subject: Re: The Island of Illusion (the lake) > "I'm not sure if I'm leaving I'm just saying for me anything is > possible." "You are being an idiot Slizzle!" Sindos snorted. There was a reason that ram didn't fit in with them and Sindos knew why now, he was a jerk. 8215 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 2:53pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "JLB " wrote: > > Chirin flashed his lights again. This timehe wasn't going to give in by having an insult war, he had learned that they never did anything but bring you down to their level. No one won those kinds of fights. He scuffed his foot on the ground and tossed his head, then charged again. 8216 From: raychuloungerat ghostcatcher@prodigy.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 2:55pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves > Chirin flashed his lights again. Slizzle saw him ready for more. He raised his head and spat. He lowered and bleated as he ran ready to smash heads with him again. 8217 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:00pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "raychuloungerat " wrote: > > Chirin flashed his lights again. He felt the touch of electricity reaching for him from the other ram just as they collided. 8218 From: JLB king_brahma@yahoo.com Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:03pm Subject: Re: The Island of Illusion (the lake) > "Well I'm saying whatever you decide Kilba I'm with you." Slizzle dashed for him and his bleated came out as they struck, he tore his hooves into the dirt and used his weight to put all his force into his strike. 8220 From: Amy amyowlie@yahoo.com Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:27pm Subject: Re: A new day. Kilba was the only family he had left and Tori was all the family Kilba had he wondered why his brother would want to go apart? Maybe he was afraid they would grow apart from each other due to the fights during mating season? Tori wouldn't like his brother less if they did fight, he knew it but, maybe Kilba didn't and was afraid they would lose their bond. 8222 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:32pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "raychuloungerat " wrote: > > Chirin made a strong leap forward, lowering his head to bring it > to > > meet with Slizzle. Because Chirin had made a running leap and Slizzle had not, the impact gave him more of a lead for his weight. he felt it make a solid hit and he rebounded, landing smartly on his feet. 8223 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:33pm Subject: Re: A new day. Slizzle was forced back, he stumbled a bit but, found his feet again. He felt the impact still against his head, his ears rang and he snorted shaking his head trying to regain his senses. 8225 From: JLB king_brahma@yahoo.com Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:51pm Subject: Re: A new day. Keha stepped over to his brother letting Estella talk with Amber. He glanced toward the lake. Again it felt as if he was being drawn there. 8226 From: chirindenryuu wynnyelle@palm.net Date: Sat Mar 1, 2003 3:53pm Subject: Re: (In valley)Into the caves --- In Realm_light@yahoogroups.com, "raychuloungerat " wrote: > > Because Chirin had made a running leap and Slizzle had not, the > > impact gave him more of a lead for his weight. he felt it make a > > solid hit and he rebounded, landing smartly on his feet. > > Slizzle was forced back, he stumbled a bit but, found his feet > again. Of course, Slizzle would probably get wise on him now, but who knew... He couldn't let this cocky ram win! He refused to cheat--he wanted to see who was the bigger and stronger ram the fair way. Nevertheless, he looked his somewhat knobby self as he backed up, snorting and glaring.
