RACOON CITY
(game one)

Jill fired a few shots at the beasts that were following her team. They had made it to the house, but the door was locked.

Shit... we're not going to make it in...She thought as she fumbled in her pocket for lockpicks.

Chris was making his way beside her, taking potshots at the things with his handgun. Sweat was beginning to bead on his forehead. Then there was a loud booming noise. What the...?

Inside Sue curled up in a tighter ball in the air vent she had climbed into to hide from the creatures mulling around below her. She whimpered slightly. Fluffy head butted her, as if trying to calm her down. This was stupid... I've been here the past two days without food or water... Let alone real sleep... She thought staying curled up.

The newest Alpha team member was at the rear, shotgun in hand. He was the closest to the things, a slight grin on his face as he ejected a spent shell casing. He fired again, the sound loud, and the muzzle flare illuminated his face. "You DO realize that all the guns in the world won't solve this problem..." He said calmly, to which a snort from Barry was his response.

"Yeah right, don't get too cocky rookie. Jill get the goddamned door!" Barry growled as he backed onto the porch.

Chris was standing next to them, looking around for Wesker. Then the black-wearing man seemed to just pop up next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder and nearly scaring him.

Jill got the door open. "There." She opened the door to let the others in.

Jotaru ran to meet up with them, when something locked onto his leg. Growling, he did a spinning kick and knocked it back. Then he made a sprint for the door, shotgun in hand. He skidded to a halt, and bumped into everyone. Wesker let out a sigh, and shook his head. "This is out stealth specialist...." Then the captain walked in first, his gun in hand, followed by Chris.

Whoever's out there made it in... Sue looked at Fluffy, who was trying to get her to follow him down the tunnel towards the main room. She nodded crawling with them.

Jill shoved Chris off her. "Damnit Chris, you weigh a ton... Lay off the fucking doughnuts butterball." She grumbled as she got back up. "And the bastard left us.." She sighed. "What now?"

"We finish the mission. We came in for survivors, we find them and get out right?" Barry asked.

Jotaru shrugged. "I guess so. Damn thing bit me....good thing this boots are tougher than it's teeth." He walked in, and let out a groan. "Everyone in! Their'a comin'!" He pulled the door shut, and several loud bangs and thumps could be heard against the door as the young man fell on top of Chris, who let out a loud whoosh sound.

Jill and Barry both raised their guns in case the door opened. "It's safe." Jill said after a moment.

"Looks like I'm not the only one who needs to loss some weight around here..." He pushed the other off him, and stood up, reaching back to help him up. He pulled the other to his feet, and looked around. "Fancy digs..."

The vent above Wesker broke open and a small girl fell on him. "Ow..." She moaned.

He growled, then smirked, and picked her up by the back of her jacket. "So we meet again, eh?" He clicked his tongue at her, and lowered his shades. "You should have listened to me before....Now, where is that key?"

"Hey, Wesker, don't hurt her." Jill moved to check on the girl. "You okay?" She asked taking the small girl from him.

He growled again, hoping that no one heard him. If they had.... He griped his gun tighter, and frowned heavily.

Jotaru looked around, and pulled out his own handgun, this one the same M92F model as the others'. "What's a kid doing here in the first place?" he asked no-one in particular. He eyed Wesker's odd reaction, but shrugged it off stress-related. He glanced over at Chris, who was still taking in the mansion's interior. "This...is making less and less sense...and what the hell where those things? The one I hit looked like some kind of dog..."

Sue stayed near Jill. "They... They were..." She said softly.

"What do you mean?" Jill looked at her. She bit her lip.

He spun his gun around like in an old Western movie, and imitated pushing the brim of his hat up with the muzzle. "Well, they sure can bite like dogs," He said in a mock drawl, before Wesker shot him the fiercest glare he had EVER used on someone before. This quickly shut up the dark-haired man.

"You came to get us out right... There was another team in here... I.... I heard their screams... I... I don't know if they're still alive..." Sue touched her necklace and glanced at Wesker. Have to stay away from him... The key needs DNA to work it.. He'll need me too... I'm not going back into the labs...

Chris finished his inspection, and rubbed his chin. "This place is huge....and it has to have some connection with those..those...dogs...if that's what they are..." He fell silent again, and folded his arms over his chest. "We have a LOT of ground to cover..."

"What about the kid?" Jill asked. "We can't leave her here."

Wesker nodded, and pushed his shades back up with one finger. "I agree...I suggest we all split up, and keep in close contact when we can...." He looked to Jill. "I think perhaps I should take her, unless Barry here wants to...he IS a father, after all..." He gestured to the older man, a slight smirk on his face for no reason.

Sue backed up slightly as Wesker got closer to them. She didn't want the others to know about the key.

The large man looked over at the little girl with a smile on his face. "I can handle her..." Then he looked at her more seriously. "You won't cause me any trouble, will you?" He leaned down closer to her, and smiled again.

Jill looked at her. "You know I'm not good with kids and she seems terrified of you." Jill looked to Barry and the others. "One of you have to take her."

"I... I can stay here.... I don't want to go further in..."

Jotaru holstered the gun. "What if those things break down the door?" There was one last bang, then the sound of growling. "After seeing that hand out there, it's not all that hard to imagine what they'd do to a kid..."

As if to drive in the point one of the dogs barked. Sue yelped scrambling back, crashing into Chris.

"It's okay you're safe." Jill commented flashing Jotaru a glare. "The poor kid's already terrified, I don't think we need her blacking out on us. She'd be dead weight to carry around."

The man stumbled, then rubbed his temples. "I'll look after her..." He picked her up, and looked down at her. "I'd feel responsible if anything happened to her."

Jotaru shrugged. "Well, excuuuuse me...you ARE looking at someone who used to be a secret government operative...if STARS wasn't so high-priority, I wouldn't even be here.." He looked over at Chris and the little girl. "Besides, Chris can handle it...he IS a ladies man.." With that, he snickered.

Sue wrapped her arms around Chris's neck. "I... I don't trust the man with the glasses..." She said hoping that he wouldn't question her reasoning until they were away from the others.

Jill stood. "We should split up. Meet here in an hour?"

Wesker nodded. "Yes...I think though, that perhaps, in light of our rookie's comments, we should pair him up with a more experienced member....Otherwise, he'll end up getting..." he shrugged, and grinned slightly. "Well, you get the idea...Volunteers? I'm not, of course...I'd find myself wanting to shoot him myself..."

Jill looked at Barry then to Chris. "I'll take him. Wesker, why don't you work with Chris?"

Chris coughed a bit, and nodded. "He's like that....personally, I think he's a bit creepy...."

Sue shook her head slipping one hand around her necklace again.

Wesker looked thoughtful, and nodded. "Very well. After all, Barry can take care of himself...he's the most experienced one of us here...Besides, with the girl, Chris won't be able to defend himself properly.." Though none could see it through the dark shades, his eyes were locked onto the necklace. So..that must me what I'm looking for...but with Chris around...it won't be that easy to get it...

The door creeked again and Sue yelped hiding her face in Chris's shoulder. "I don't want to die in here..." She whimpered.

Barry made his way to the door, and spotted something. Grinning, he locked the door, and turned to face everyone. "Okay, who's taking the top floor? We have a lot of ground to cover, and hopefully we'll find the others, and get the Hell out of here VERY soon."

Jill looked at the stairs. "Jotaru and I will take it."

He ran a gloved hand through his long dark hair, and nodded. "Fine by me..." He adjusted his dark blue shirt, and holstered his gun, the shotgun still resting against his shoulder. "Everyone....here's hoping we make it out of this...." Then he looked to Jill. "Ladies first?" he asked, grinning slightly at the bad pun.

"Hmph.. When I see a lady I'll tell you." She quipped back heading up the stairs.

It was Chris' turn to snicker as he carried Sue into the dining room to the left, Wesker close behind. Barry went to the right, his magnum in hand. Joking aide, there was a great deal of tension in the air. The banging against the door had ceased, as did the growling. Jotaru shrugged, and followed Jill, tapping his shotgun against the ornate wooden railing of the stairs.

Jill heard his tapping and glanced down to make sure it was just him. "Hurry up will ya? It's too quiet in here." She said feeling a little unnerved.

A green creature, the size of a house cat scowled as Wesker entered the dinning room. "Fluffy." Sue struggled to be let down.

He followed close behind, still tapping the gun. "That sounds like a line from an old zombie movie..." He grinned at that, and laughed.

"I hate monster movies." She added.

Chris spotted the weird thing. "What the Hell is that?" he went for his gun, and stared. "It looks like...a cat...but...why the Hell would a cat be GREEN?" he asked himself, as he set her down on the table. Claire would love that...a green cat...I still remember the last 'pet' she brought home.... He grimaced, and rubbed his arm.

Sue jumped down from the table scooping up the beast. "It's green because I made him that way." She said softly. She then saw how close she was to Wesker and scrambled back from him, the cat still scowling.

"Made him that way?" Chris cocked an eyebrow at her, and crouched down, looking at it. "It's scowling....how the Hell can a cat scowl?" Wesker grinned behind Chris' back, and stroked his chin, muttering about genetics.

Sue looked at Wesker and hugged the cat closer. "So I added some human traits..." She retorted.

Jotaru looked up at her. "Really? Remind me not to talk about the really gross ones around you." He snickered, and jogged up past her. He looked around, and noticed something by one of the doors. "Hey...on the wall...isn't that....blood?" he squinted his eyes to try to get a better look.

Jill looked. "Oh god... Don't let it be from one of Bravo team..." She said softly.

Chris shrugged. This was starting to go over his head. "Okay, let's just get back to work, okay? And...tell that...cat..not to scowl too much...it's creeping me out..." He stood, and went over to the next door, his hand resting on the knob. "Coming?"

The cat broke away from her blocking the door. Sue went after it to grab it and it slashed at her making her recoil.

Jotaru slowly made his way over, reloading the shotgun. It was the standard police model, holding seven rounds. However, on his back, he had a second one, this one a double-barrelled sawed-off that had caused quite a stink amongst the rest of the RPD. Eventually, he'd been allowed to use it...but only on missions to secluded areas. "Hell...it's blood all right...and it stops at this door..."

Jill leaned against the wall. "I'll go high, you low. Deal?"

Chris pointed his gun at it. "Okay, now it's really starting to get on my nerves!" His eye twitched.

He nodded, and pulled out the sawed-off. "Deal...on three...one..." he tensed, and took a step back.

"No... Don't kill him." She begged picking him up. She heard something outside the door. "Something's out there...."

She opened the door pushing it open before ducking down.

Jotaru peered in, and sighed. "Nothin...wait...more blood...leading to another door...what is this, anyway?" He stepped inside, holstering the sawed-off. He touched the blood, and got it on his fingertips. He rubbed it between his fingers. "Still fresh...and warm..." he noted softly, his head bowed slightly.

"Hello? Anyone here?" Jill called still holding her gun. "That's too much blood for one person..."

Chris raised his gun. "Well, we might as well take a little look....it could be one of the other STARS..." He leaned against the wall, and opened the door slowly. He didn't notice Wesker sneaking off through the door they had come in from.

Sue nodded staying by him. "Fluffy... Please don't make him angry okay?" She asked.

Jotaru made his way to the next door, and tried opening it. "It's locked..." he said lamely. "Think you can do something with this? I'd rather not have to blow the lock off...it'd give us away.."

Jill looked at the lock. "I don't have the tools to get it." She said then looked up. "We'll need to find the key."

"Who, him or me?" Chris asked, as he crept inside the hallway on the other side. He pressed his back against the wall, and slowly inched his way along. Sweat trickled down his brow, and his heart was racing in his chest, trying to burst.

The dark-haired young man muttered a curse. "Wonderful...so, we either go looking for a key, or I blow the lock, and our cover...what wonderful choices..." He sighed. "Well, since you're the one in charge, you pick."

Sue stayed near him. "Oh god help me...." The voice was weak.

"That's a steel door. I doubt you're shells could bust it."

Chris's eyes widened, and quickly entered the back of the hall. His eyes widened, and he resisted the urge to vomit. "What...the fuck...." he said, backing up against a wall.

Jotaru growled, and kicked it once for good measure. "Damn damn damn....I hate this stupid place already...where in God's name do we start looking? That key could be anywhere in this place...even downstairs.."

Sue saw what was going on and bit back a scream. The feasting creature turned towards them.

Chris, closing his eyes, and breathing, suddenly pointed his gun at its head, and fired again and again. The bullets smacked into its forehead, shattering the skull and pulping its brain. He opened his eyes, and sagged to the floor. "That...that was a...zombie..."

The... The virus... "We have to get out of here... the other one will move..." She said fighting the urge to get sick. "Mr Chris... Please... We have to go..." She tugged his arm. The man on the floor twitched starting to move.

Chris grimaced, and stood. He pointed his gun again, and fired into the thing's brain like he did the last one. He saw the patch on its sleeve. "Christ....look..." he knelt next to it. "It's...it's..one of the STARS..."

Sue sank to the floor covering her mouth.
