ATLANTA, GA, USA
A week before incident in Racoon City.

"Hey, Sis, I need you to meet me just outside the CDC in two hours." Danny Draven bit her lip hearing the voice.

"Marcus? Marcus, tell me what's going on." Danny leaned back in the hammock that hung on the front deck of her small Downtown Atlanta home. Platinum colored hair fell into her face. She rocked in the hammock and it blew off her delicate looking face.

"Detective, I can't talk about it over the phone. Please, just meet me for lunch."

God damn it. It's my only day off before switching to nights and you have to call me out of the blue like this bro. You owe me. I'm stuck with con duty the next week and calling me Detective... Damn it Marcus, what the fuck is going on? She thought. "Yeah, you just better bring the coffee. Mint strawberry mocha, whipped cream." She replied. "Oh! And sprinkles. It better have a lot of sprinkles."

There was a laugh on the other end of the line. "Got it sissy." The line clicked. Danny looked at the phone a few moments then sighed.

"Okay bro. Whatever made you call had you spooked." She said softly as she went to hang the cordless up inside and grab her gear. What would spook the collected one of us? She thought as she grabbed her red leather jacket and pulled her long blond hair back into a pony tail. "Okay bro, whatever you've gotten into this time, if I can I'll bail you out of it.. But I can't do that all the time. After all, you're the scientist. I'm just a cop." She snatched up the keys to her bike and slipped her wallet with her badge into an interior pocket of her jacket. And bro... You know if you got into a lot of trouble I'll go to the deepest pits of hell for you, even if it means my job. She thought kicking the bike to life and heading towards Atlanta from her small house outside Mableton. The purple bike surged with power as she pulled on to the interstate. Welcome to Atlanta... The worst place to live due to the heat.. And damn... Marcus, you better get me a grande. If it's any smaller you're gonna get a noogie. She thought as she sped down the street heading for her off ramp.

Marcus finished writing the instructions for his sister and bit his lip. If I'm right, then hopefully this will protect her, Atlanta and most of the South East is going to end up a fucking ghost town. We've only been able to produce one dose of anti-virus to counter it, and I'm only praying that it works. So far we haven't tested it on anyone. God... Please let it work. Danny's lost so much already... I don't want her to die as painfully as this virus kills. Please God... He thought biting his lip. Danny had been the one that had gotten him through college and working for the CDC after his accident. Since then he had lived under her protection pretty much. This is basically to make sure someone knows what's going on. If anyone can stop people from being killed... It would have to be you sis... Marcus went to the cafe to get his sister her coffee. You have too much heart to let those around you die... I've watched you take cases so far that most cops wouldn't dare touch because of Mafia... You've become friends with every lawyer you know... He thought giving a small smile. His sister had this aura about her that made it impossible to want to hurt her. He had watched a serial killer break free from his chains once in court and she stepped in front of the witness protecting the man with her life. The killer had backed up when she had moved to subdue him again. She's got guts.. That's one thing that might actually get her through this.

"Here you go Doctor Draven." He nodded taking the cups of coffee. "Ten fifty."

I'm sorry Dan, but, it's time I repaid you for everything you did for me after Elza was killed. If this is the only way I can.. He thought as he set the cup on the arm of his wheelchair and fished out the change.

"Doctor Draven, how's your project going?"

"It's doing fine. I'm sure that it will work like planned. Has the rest of the project been going well Mandy?" He smiled at the red head who was walking up. Twenty minutes to slip the anti virus into the drink and give it to Dan. He thought as he started out the door.

"It's going well. We'll get the other results from the test site soon. Our contact is going for the data as we speak." Mandy held the door open for him.

"That's good. I'm sorry to cut this short Mandy, but my sister's coming for lunch. I wanted to wish her good luck before she had to start her night shifts."

"Ah, well, see you soon then." Amanda nodded turning to head back to the underground labs. Marcus sighed slightly.

That was a close one. Marcus thought as he sat under the awning a moment.

Danny pulled off her helmet as she saw her brother coming up to her. "Ah, Marcus, you're such a doll!" She tossed her helmet into a saddlebag as she went for him, going mostly for the mocha.

"Sis, is there a way we can leave here for a bit? Maybe go down to the park?" He asked as she took a small sip of the drink. God, please don't let it kill her. If it works we can make a cure for what's to come from her. Danny's the only one I know that has the right metabolism.

"Yeah, what's on your mind Bro?" She asked as she fell into step beside his wheelchair. She was glad that she had been able to get her brother one of the motorized ones. He had been kicking her ass at arm wrestling lately and she hated it.

"Something's going to happen soon. A lot of people might die." He lowered his head slightly. In the corner of his eye he caught her taking a sip of the drink. "Dandan, please, don't be alarmed when you don't get sick.. I... I couldn't have the sample fall into Umbrella's hands. I.. I gave it to you. It should keep you alive." He said as she finished the coffee. Danny stopped in mid step, the paper cup faltering in her hand. She held onto it, looking at him puzzled.

"What did you do Marcus?"

"I gave you an antidote for all diseases, at least all that we know about... I'm hoping that it.."

"YOU WHAT?" Danny looked at him.

"I did what I thought was the best Danny. You looked after me after everything happened. Even had to take a year out... Please, don't go to anyone about this. You'll be killed if they find out about it." He caught her arm. "Danny, this is important. I'll need you to take what you have in you up to a place in Alaska. They'll know what to do with it." He smiled at her. "You'll be able to cure millions of people. You'll protect them all.."

"I can't just take time off brother." She glared at him. "You could have asked me before doing that." She growled slightly. The two of them were near the front of the building again. A little red dot appeared on Marcus' chest. It took a split second for it to register with Danny and she threw herself at her brother to knock him out of the way, even as she saw a red blossom of blood appear on his chest. "Marcus!"

"Go." He gasped as she knelt next to him. She felt him slip something into her hand. "Run... Dandan... don't..."

Big brother... She thought then nodded scrambling for her bike. Gunfire erupted behind her as she sped off. Oh god... This isn't happening.. This can't be happening.. Marcus... You promised me that you wouldn't get into anything serious.... She thought as she pulled onto Peachtree. I need to get away from here... She saw a chopper above her. Damnit... Whoever killed Marcus knew what was going on... I hate being the only one out of the loop! She thought as she came to the marketplace. She pulled into the underground garage and turned off her bike. I need to tell the chief what's going on... He'll be able to send me some back up... She thought leaning against the wall breathing hard.

Warm... It's too warm... She thought pulling off her jacket. She put it on the back of her bike and sat on the floor a moment shaking her head. I need to get up.. I need to get to a phone... They knew Brother was going to do that.. they might have my phone tapped... She stumbled to her feet slowly. Come on... You have to get up... You need to warn them... She thought stumbling for the entrance to the underground mall.
