The motel

Danny sat on the room's second bed. Alanyia had been given enough pain killers so she could rest a bit.

Carlos pulled the jeep into the lot, and put it in park. He looked around, satisfied that there weren't any more monsters around. "Okay, amigos...we're here once again....Now, if we can find them..." He locked his door, and started slightly when Chris pushed past him.

Leon sighed. "Let me guess... Bad news?" He muttered following Chris into the seedy motel.

Chris was frowning. "I've been having a real bad day....and I don't think it's going to get much better...." he replied as they walked up to the lobby. He looked at the man behind the desk. "Hey, you! Two women came here earlier....which room are they in?" he asked, flashing his STARS badge at him.

"Three oh two..."

Danny turned on the TV keeping it low. "Death toll from Hurricane Britany Is over two hundred... Expecting to rise as the epidemic that follows her rises."

Chris nodded, and headed for the room, the two others behind him as he walked. Soon, they were at the room. He knocked on it loudly, to let them know they had company.

Danny looked at Alanyia, picked up the gun and went to the door. "Who is it?" She asked switching off the safety.

"Detective it's us... We brought a friend." Leon said quickly. She opened the door carefully.

Chris brushed past her, an angry look on his face, an anger that had been building up ever since Wesker turned on them. He was still wearing the shredded shirt and vest, and he had tired eyes. "Okay, NOW would somebody tell me what exactly's going on?" he asked as Carlos came in with Leon and shut the door. "Seriously, this is starting to get on my nerves..."

Danny yelped as he got angered. "Hey, don't have to get all fucking snapity at me... I mean..." She glared at him... "Don't tell me he's a local cop..."

Chris shot her a dirty look, and remained silent, showing her the badge to shut her up. "Listen, when you've spent your day in mansio being chased by zombies, mutant dogs, freak spiders, and a traitor, THEN you can snap at me all you want...got it?"

"Try waking up bound to an operating table with a zombie debating if it wants you for fucking lunch." She snapped back. "And I still don't know what the fuck those Lizard things were."

Leon looked at Carlos wondering if they should break up the 'bad day' contest.

"Oh and don't forget.. I witnessed my older brother getting shot... then let's see... Was in the middle of God fucking damned Atlanta when the CDC blew..."

"Try this...nine foot fucking monster named Tyrant nearly shredding you to bits," he turned, giving her a clear view of the ruined Kevlar vest and shirt. "Oh, and then there's watching as a friend of yours turns into a mindless monster, only to be brought back as a freak of nature..."

Danny looked at him. "Okay... you win." She sat down on the bed.

"That was quick..."

Danny shot Leon a glare. "So... what's the plan? We really should get your friend to a hospital.. She's lost a lot of blood... I was able to stop it, but who knows if she's infected..."

Chris looked thoughtful. "Well, we should get back to warn the others....we've got two carriers there, plus the kid who made the virus work...unless you prefer the entire city become a festering pit for zombies?"

"A kid? God if my brother heard that he'd scream... Took him three months to figure out what they were dealing with when they got the sample.."

Leon looked at her. "Maybe you should come clean."

"And have to repeat myself... forget it.. Besides we don't have time... If what happened in that hospital took a week.... Think what it'll be like the next few for the town."

Chris frowned. "Best bet is to try to get to the RPD, try to get the others warned, and out of there fast....especially Sue and Jotaru...if Umbrella got either of them, we'd be royally fucked..."

Alanyia moaned slightly starting to wake.

Leon went to her side. "Jinn? You feeling better?"

Carlos moved over to her. He looked from her to Chris. "Got some good news, Al...though I don't know if you'd be able to handle it..." He smiled at her.

"Let me guess... Must be that I'm in Hell cause I'm seeing you're ugly mug." She said carefully sitting up.

There was a soft chuckle from behind Carlos, who turned and saw Chris with a hand over his mouth. "You're one to talk, you cabron..." the hispanic pouted for a moment.

"Redfield," She sighed. "You guys made it back. What of Beta?" She asked.

"Beta?"

Chris blinked. "Beta?" he asked, slightly confused. "You mean the Bravo team, or something else?" He scratched his chin, and noticed her condition. "I see someone must've had fun..."

"Guys give her a break she was shot." Leon said seeing Alanyia waver slightly. "You should stay down."

"I'm fine Rookie." She chuckled at Chris's comment. "I think the girl doped me up a little too much..."

Chris nodded. "I hear that. I figure I must have at least a week's worth of painkillers in my system at the moment....Hell, all of what's left of us are half-dead for different reasons..."

"I told you I'm not a doctah..." She grimaced hearing the southern accent. "Sorry."

Chris sat down on a nearby chair, wincing slightly from the pain in his shoulder. "Well....things have REALLY gone down the toilet lately, huh?" He rubbed his bruised shoulder, and smiled lopsidedly.

Alanyia nodded. "Please tell me Vickers isn't one of the survivors... I bet he was the idiot who trashed the other chopper so I couldn't go get you. Probably while Irons was shooting me.

Chris smiled grimly. "Actually, he's the one who got us out of that hellhole...." He looked up at the roof of the room. "I thought Irons had something to do with this....it seemed to big an operation for just one man to carry out...and even then, it didn't work out the way anyone thought.."

Danny picked up the waterbottle she had been drinking from, finishing it off. "Hm.. Can we mope later.. I'd sort of like to get more ammo.." Danny asked.

Carlos nodded in agreement. Chris, on the other hand, was a bit grim-faced at the suggestion. "It's not like we can go raid the station's cache....though knowing Barry, he's got his own arsenal at his place..." He rubbed his arm. "Well, we might as well let the others know about everything, huh?"

Alanyia grinned. "I have a small store at the station. You know how I am with my ammo. Report firing an extra bullet here one there... The bottom drawer in my desk is full of clips."

Chris gave her a look. "No wonder I've been running low...you're almost as bad as Jill, you know.." There was a slight grin on his face.

"Jill's worse. I picked it up from her when they started cutting back our funding." She got up slowly.

Danny grabbed up Leon's jacket. "Here, thanks for letting me use it."

Chris shrugged. "Well, are we going, or not? This is starting to get a bit too tense for my tastes..."

"Going." Leon said quickly. "I'll get the jeep to the door."

Jotaru rubbed his chin. "I think we should tell the press about what happened up there....try and expose Umbrella for what they did. It's the only way we can make it up to the others...." He trailed off, and was quiet.

Becca nodded.

"I can give you all the information you'll need..." Sue said looking up.

"Right now you're going to stay hidden. Think about it, if they know you made it out who knows what will happen Sue." Jill said looking at the younger girl.

Jotaru nodded. "She's right...we can't risk another outbreak. Especially if the next lab is somewhere under Raccoon..." He pulled a map out of his desk, and unrolled it. He pointed at different spots. "Each of these is a different facility owned by Umbrella...some of which have no clue what they're involved in. We can probably get some information from each of these.."

Sue recognized one of them. "That's Sherry's house.... Her father's a scientist for them..." She said softly. "He's insane though..."

Jotaru nodded. "That would be William.....I think I've already outlined how I know him. I also know his wife Annette is also a scientist for Umbrella. Probably working on his 'G-Virus'..."

"Sherry's innocent though. I know she's not like me... she spends more time with her friends..." Sue sat down looking at the map. "That hospital's where they were going to take Tyrant's mate... To make sure she was pure enough..."

The part-creature blinked behind his shades. "A MATE? As far as I could tell, that thing was SEXLESS. I mean, you'd think we'd have noticed, right?" He looked over at Jill. "Did you see anything at all...down there...on that thing?"

Jill shook her head. "I couldn't see anything."

Sue shook her head. "No... Tyrant was the prototype... Nemisis... I'm sorry... I'm still tired..." Sue bit her lip curling up in the chair thinking they'd be mad at her for getting sleepy again.

He scratched the back of his head. "This is gonna suck. You mean I have to fight ANOTHER one of those things? ....Please tell me that gatling gun is actually here....please..."

Jill looked to Barry. "Did you see if it came in?"

Becca wrapped a blanket around Sue moving her to the sofa in the office. "Get some sleep okay? We don't need you blacking out on us okay?"

Barry looked over the form. "Hmm...it looks like it arrived, but the Chief had it locked inside the depot, of course....he never approves of any weapons other than the ones he himself has brought in..." He tossed the paper back down on the desk, sighing.

Jill bit back a curse. "We'll have to deal without it for now. Damnit... Where is Chris.."

Jotaru pulled his wallet out of his desk, and went through it, shrugging. "Not sure...he said he was heading for the showers, but he hasn't been there, and he's still wearing his torn uniform..." Still flipping through the wallet, he pulled out every single credit card, bank card, and gift card he had.

"What are you doing?" Becca asked curious.

He grinned. "You think I trust that fat bastard?" he chuckled, removing his shades, and looking at the strip running along each card. "Not you...not you...not you...not you..not---wait!" He lifted up the credit card he had almost discarded to his face, and ran his eyes along it, his grin widening.

Becca looked at him then at Sue wondering if the kid had made him insane

"Got it..." he slipped the card into his shirt's front pocket. He was still grinning. "It's an old trick....I've changed the reading on this card right here," he patted the pocket, "to be read by the RPD's computer system as the weapon's storage key....It was hard to do, harder still to keep it a secret..."

Jill grinned. "And here I thought I was the resident theif?"

He gave her a slight shrug. "Well, it was either that, or have to put up with Irons' crap for months on end because I store my heavy artillery down there..."

She nodded. "I'll go with you to get gear if Barry and Becca could stay with her."

Jotaru looked over at them. "Think you can handle that responsibility, children?" he teased.

Barry shot at glare at him. "No matter what happens, you're always a pain in the ass..."

Becca looked at the sleeping girl. "We can handle it. Though, Barry, weren't you going to get her something to eat... Or should we wait until we can get her out of here?"

Alanyia limped into the office with a blond in tow. The other woman sighed. "You know one of the men could have carried you." The woman said

"Yeah... But if they did, then what would you have done with that empty gun?"

Jotaru slapped his hands over his eyes. "Uh...visitors?" He wiffed his hand at them. "Go away. Please..." Barry rolled his eyes, and threw a paperweight at him. With his his eyes closed, Jotaru caught it, and frowned. "Trying to kill me, Barry?"

"Hey Barry..." Alanyia moved to take the couch then saw the kid. "So take it the walking ass is Jotaru... and the kid's Sue right Chris?"

Jotaru opened his silver and black eyes, and growled, the sound deep and inhuman. "Mind repeating that?" he hissed, glaring at her.

Chris sighed. "Yea..and now you've got him started..."

"Jotaru, quiet, this is the other chopper pilot. Man... Looks like you went through hell Al." Jill said noting the bandages.

Jotaru continued glaring, and tossed the paperweight aside, cracking it slightly. "Who hasn't today?" he said, still huffy.

"Yeah, you'll love who gave me these scars too..." Al rolled her eyes. "So.... You guys talk... I'll pass out okay?" Danny yelped as Alanyia went dead weight on her.

Jotaru just rolled his eyes, and propped his boots up on his desk. "So....anything new?"

Leon looked over at Sue. "She's okay at least..." He wondered if he should fill in the others or let the higher ups do it.

Barry leaned back in his chair, and pulled out his gun, idly point it at Jotaru. The dark-haired younger man saw that. "Barry...now you're being an idiot..." Jotaru commented.

"Is everyone in this town this fucking nuts? Ah can' stand this... first ah..." She glared at Barry. "Don't even make me give you half the bad day ah've been havin' buddy. You wouldn't survive it." She groaned starting to feel warm again. She knelt setting Alanyia down and looked up. Her green eyes flickering gold for a moment.

Jotaru snorted. "Nothing can be as bad as mine has been..." To demonstrate, he pulled out a knife, and slit his wrist, holding his arm up to them.

Leon rolled his eyes. "Can we avoid the immortal acts?" He looked to Chris for help.

Jotaru flicked his black blood at them. "Stop being a wiseass....I could have you thrown in the nearest stockade if I wanted to..."

"Look, we're all on the same side here." Leon said filling in the others on what had happened to him, Carlos and Alanyia before they had found Danny." Danny closed her eyes trying to will the dizzyness away.

"Bleah...like I know you all from Wesker..." was the response.

"Damnit.. Iron's tried killing the pilot."

Sue shuddered hearing that name remembering Vickers trying to hurt her.

"And Wesker tried killing me....I tried eating Chambers...your point?" Jotaru was still disinterested.

Leon gave up. "Forget it... We'll check out the other places ourselves." He went to help Danny.

"Blah...You don't even have a clue where to look, kid..." Jotaru continued acting like an idiot, grinning inside. "And you're so easy to mess with, too."

"No way am I going back out there yet." Danny pulled her arm away. "I'm tired of not knowin' what the hell's goin' on. First my brother gives me some germ he cooked up to save my life... Then those fuckers in the contamination suits... Waking up in the hospital bound to a bed... I want some answers now!' It was clear she was well past her breaking point.

"Simple....Umbrella. Makes. Monsters. For. Fun. Is that clear enough?" Jotaru leaned forward, frowning again. "And guess what? All this...the cannibals, those monsters...THAT is what the great Umbrella corporation has been doing for THIRTY YEARS! And no one has any answers, because the pople running the company are a couple of insanse INBREEDERS!! DOES THAT HELP?!" he screamed, getting tired of the primadonna act.

"Marcus said he... oh god..." She moaned.

He nearly broke his teeth as he gritted them. "Of course, it's all done in the name of capitalism, and national security, so what's a few thousand lives here or there?"

"What ever they created's being spread by the hurricane in the south. I was in Atlanta when it started...."

Jotaru stared. "...Well, crap There goes the entire Western continent..."

"That's what Brother meant... I have to get to his friends in Alaska... They can make a vaccine..."

Once more, Jotaru stared. "Do you have ANY idea how far that is from here? Even if you made it in time, and assuming they could get one ready, it'd probably be too late to do anything about it...except....the Contingency Plan...."

She looked down. "That's why those jerks grabbed me... So... Fuck."

Chris blinked at the last part. "Uh...why does that sound bad?" he asked stupidly.

"Because it is?"

Jotaru nodded. "It's the same as any contingency plan the US Army has come up with....B.S.U.W.B.N..."

"We have to get out of here somewhow.

"And no one asks what the B.S.U.W.B.N. plan is...." Jotaru commented.

Sue pipped up. "It's bad isn't it?"

"It stands for six VERY bad words..."

"I have a feeling I'll learn worse..."

"Blow. Stuff. Up. With. Big. Nukes."

"That's why I say we get out of here..."

Sue looked at the new woman scared. She saw Leon and went over to him hiding her face in his leg. "I don't want to get blown up..."

Leon knelt to pick her up. "We won't."

Jotaru smiled at her. "Don't worry...they'll wait to see if they can cover their asses first...they won't risk it...especially if it makes them AND the President look bad.."

"They shouldn't do it at all!" Sue retorted hiding her face in Leon's shoulder. He looked to the women with a pleading 'help' look.

"Yeah they shouldn't, but idiotic men rule the country." Alanyia said beaming a grin at Chris and Barry. "No offence guys."

Chris snorted, and rolled his eyes. "You think a woman could do better?" he said, mock-sullen. Barry just closed his eyes and rubbed his temples.

"WE wouldn't be in this mess if we were." Jill said with a smirk. "Come on. we have to get those three..." She pointed at Alanyia Sue and Jotaru, "Out of here."

Jotaru snorted. "Did I forget to mention that one of the heads of Umbrella is a woman? And that she's been doing her OWN research on a much NASTIER virus...one that makes both of Birkin's look like the Flu?"

Sue bit her lip. "Guys... Let the kid at least get out of earshot." Leon said as she shifted.

Alanyia looked up at them. "We'll get out after we restock our ammo... And after I kick Irons' ass... And Vickers while I'm at it.."

Jotaru snorted again. "Your funeral....as for me, I'm staying here in the city...right now, I may be the only person who's unaffected by the virus..."

Danny looked at him. "Chris said you were changed. Though... Where I was the past week.... I'm not affected... Other than the damn dizzy spells." Danny said getting up. "Is there somewhere the rest of you can go? Maybe the two of us can get weapons and get them to you."

Chris shrugged. "There's always SOMEPLACE to hide in Raccoon City...." Jotaru looked up at them, and tossed them another, smaller map.

"That is basically every safe place in the city, plus ways to get out of it quickly."

"My place isn't safe. Sue lives next door so the place may be watched." Leon looked at Jotaru. "Why the attitude change?"

"Mr Kennedy, don't start... Please.." Sue begged.

Jill pulled the spare ammo from her desk. "How many clips yo have Al?"

"Not many. My peice is in my locker though... Fat chance getting to it with Irons watching out for me. Give a few to Detective Draven. She has Carlos's eagle."

Jotaru sniffed the air for a moment. Then glared down at them all. "Who the Hell has been using MY bullets?!" he hissed, rising up the the Wrath of God. "I can smell the powder from here..."

"What do you mean? The rounds Carlos gave Leon... Man.. those things work great against the lizards we saw."

"Hunters. Those were hunters." Sue said remembering how Hunters looked. She didn't expect to be heard anyway.

"No one is supposed to use those...EVER....because they were in a LOCKED locker...." He looked over at Jill, thinking. "Did you mess with that locker in the depot again?"

"Hell no. You nearly ripped my head off last time. Though... Would be nice if we could get some of those guns you had in there."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Pffft....I'm surrounded by theives...all after my secret cache...feh...fine....BUT no one even THINKS about going NEAR the gatling gun....NO ONE! Is that clear?" He glared harder at them.

"Gatling... Fuck... That's a serious peice." Danny said. "I'm fine with a rifle.. Though if you guys have anything that can drop an elephant that would be good..."

Jill tossed Danny a few clips. "Detective eh?" Danny nodded. Jill gave her a small nod.

Jotaru walked past them. "Well, let's see if there's anything left down there first, okay?"

"I'll go." Danny said. "It would be the best place to get a bulletproof vest right? Why don't you guys get the kid and Captian Jinn out of here."

"She's good." Alanyia said giving the detective a smirk.

"You talk in your sleep too. I just could make out that you were talking about your promotion." She smiled.

"Mr Redfield.." Sue asked looking at him. She had looked at the map and noww pointed to one of the safe houses. "Can we go to that church? It's small enough for us to cover... and I'd feel safer there... After what's happened...." She clung to Leon.

Chris nodded. "Sure thing. Let's get going, everyone..." He motioned with his hand for the others to follow.

Jotaru idly strolled down the hallway, and looked down at his healed wrist. Well....at this rate the day will NEVER end soon enough for me...

Leon followed Chris, still holding Sue. "You okay?" He asked the girl, who nodded. Fluffy fell in step beside him.

Danny followed Jotaru. "So... What's this Irons guy look like?" She asked keeping her voice down. She was still in amazement of how big the place was.

"Hmm...he's maybe above average make height, stocky-bordering-on-pudgy, close-cut brownish hair, same color mustache, always wears fancy clothes...clothes that seem TOO fancy for any cop's salary, really....I always thought he was a corrupted bastard...." the STARS man replied as they walked down the stairs to the first floor. "Try to stay close to me, so you don't get lost...this place used to be a museum...that's why it's this damn big..."

Danny nodded. "You don't have to worry, I'm tougher than I look. Have to deal with pro wrestlers all the time when they get out of hand at the clubs. If I can handle some of their hits... I think I can handle anything else the world thows at me at the moment."

Jotaru snorted. "Believe me, some of these things would make any pro wrestler wet himself....but, don't get me started...I happen to know pretty much all there is to know about the early Umbrella brand monsters..."

"I'm not going to freak out on you." She said calmly, stopping to tug the back of the scrub shirt she was wearing. "On the way to catch the others, We need to make one quick stop. I need jeans and a real shirt. These make me feel a little too exposed." She said thanking whatever gods who watched out for her that the paper hadn't torn.

"And yes, I'm paying attention. Go ahead and continue briefing me cheif." She flashed him a grin.

Vickers stormed out of Irons' office heading back to the STARS office to check up on the others.

"Anyway.....the problem here is getting to the depot, then making off with several large weapons without being spotted by anyone....We COULD try going through the sewers, but I think that since there's a lab down there somewhere, it'd be best to stay above ground..." Jotaru continued walking down the hall, and pushed open the door to the evidence room. "A little while ago, we had some moron survivalists stealing clothing and such...there should at least be a dozen different things here you can use..."
