ephemerality.permanenceHeads-up on the Warning labels... Warning labels are often added to works of fiction due to the content and the likes of the readers. Not only do they tell a timid person about yaoi/yuri in a fic, but it also gives the reader an idea of what's inside. Here are the most common warning labels and short descriptions: Yaoi- guy to guy love. Yuri- girl to girl love. Angst- Depression or death. Romance- <=== Shounen-ai- like yaoi, only very light. (Literally, "Boy Love" Shoujo-ai- like yuri, only light. (Lit. "Girl Love") Lemon & Lime- Lemon and Lime refer to more hentai fics. I don't think we'll have any on here, but the difference is whereas Lime is on-screen sex, Lemon is off-screen. PWP & AU- These are sometimes interchanged. Think of PWP as FLCL. (Lit. "Plot? What Plot?) AU (Lit. "Alternate Universe") is when characters from an anime are thrown into a different world. AU usually ends up being pretty humorous, so it's often called PWP. Fluff- Fluff is just what it is. Icky, yucky, smoochy, lovey-dovey crap like that. *shudder* I hope this helps. I add warnings on all my fics, so you'll know what's in store for ya. ^_~* |
