ephemerality.permanenceShining Collection My innocence was lost from the day I met you… Remember when we used to walk? We would take strolls along the sidewalk after school, talking about what bothered us, what we enjoyed, and what would become of us. There were never answers, just questions. Questions without meaning, meant only for conversation. We were chained by society…there was nothing left but to be regular students. …Fragile puzzle pieces that break away from this course… Then that one day, as we sat on that bench and looked onward, your head rested on my shoulder, you whispered to me something. Three words, three syllables, and with far more meaning than any of our conversations. I turned my head, and was met with your lips. Glancing at the sunset…It was shining. Melting away even the flower petals in our way… After that, nothing was the same. I was numb to anything but your body, oblivious to anything but your touch. On those nights were the only time I was alive. A sea of gushing pleasure that alters the colors of the rainbow… that strikes into this world adding shadows to the fringed game. Nothing was the same, and everything was shining. Another day it changed once more. It came to an abrupt stop. The instant those lips I so often touched were touching another’s, the world you had kept spinning stopped. …fragments of my scattered heart… I was shot out of that existence, floating about without aim or purpose. Without control of my life. When the blade Red cut across my wrist soaked, the world was back fingertips in rotation. I could feel you dye leave me, leave atmosphere me through tears the crimson streaming out of my arm. Before all of you left me, I looked down at limp hand and at the red below it. And it was Shining, make you cry. |
