Because it was all a marvelous mistake.. I wish to be emotionless.
Our scene began with a crash of booming thunder. There was nothing other than the echoing sound, at least for the time being. Nothing was there for a long while afterwards. A spattering sound was present.. very soft, against a hard surface. More of these noises were heard, until another crash of thunder took place. At last, video feed came with the audio, producing a better picture of what's going on. There wasn't much to be seen, only a clouded twilight sky, with no moonlight or stars shining whatsoever. Rain fell thick from the heavy clouds, banging onto whatever should happen to be underneath the sky at that present moment. The camera faded from the sky just as a flash of lightning streaks across it, only for the focus to reappear on the ground. There was little more than a tin shack, a grassy hill mottled by the rainwater.. and a figure sitting on top of the grassy hill. The figure was small, and blurred due to the severe excess of water in the camera's line of vision. Upon further inspection, the specter was definite female, taking on the form of a person who had lost something (or something, for that matter) very dear. There was nothing else that discernable about the woman whatsoever, except for her black clothing. Her hand reached out as if to grasp the rain, letting a small puddle form in her palm. She slowly tilted her hand and poured out the rainwater as her head raised, allowing the camera to get a glimpse of her face. A face familiar to the fans of UPW, and one that hasn't been seen in a while: Lucy Furr. Her face was devoid of makeup, which is unusual to be sure. It was also devoid of any kind of expression, save for her eyes. They seemed to be lifeless and glazed over. Slowly her gaze fell upon her hand as she twisted it, letting the water roll off of it this way and that. A small, empty smile arose as she raised her hand to face, wiping off the areas underneath her eyes. The smile faded as her fingertips left, her hand then crashing back down to her side. Lucy whispered something, sounding like "how foolish of me.." She shook her head, and managed to climb to her feet. Lucy leaned on one of her legs, taking on the appearance of something like a zombie. She started to breathe heavily, as if standing up is too much of a strain. Her fingers crawled up into her hair as she sunk back down to her knees. Her escalated breathing continued for a moment, until she screamed. A new sound approached, the sound of high heels clicking against a hard floor. The noise advanced to Lucy from the side walk, stopping at her side.
"Aren't you a sorry sight?"
The new female's voice shocked Lucy out of her melancholy reverie. She looked up at the woman, still clutching fistfuls of her hair. The female seemed like a giant at this point in time, the 4" spiked red heels not helping. The other woman's deep laugh caused Lucy's brow to furrow in confusion.
"Stand up. You look pathetic sitting on the ground like that."
Lucy wiped at her eyes again, although with the rain water it didn't seem to matter. Slowly she got back to her feet, looking at the other woman standing in front of her. The other had a rather large black, lacy umbrella protecting her from the water, allowing Lucy (and the others watching) to see her properly. The olive skinned woman was exceptionally busty, the red and black corset she wore accentuating her features. Her long, raven colored tresses blew back with the force of the wind, letting her face shine for a moment. Lucy stared for a moment, taking in the woman's dark eyes and smiling red lips.
"So. Why were you wailing to the sky? Personal problems, I assume?"
"If they are, they are no concern of yours," Lucy gasped, her voice cracking.
"Perhaps not, but I'm intrigued. So.. tell me."
"I don't care to discuss these types of things with absolute strangers."
"Oh? Then allow me to introduce myself.. my name is Martinez. Shelly.. Martinez. Although you might know me by other names.. Desire.. the Halloween Barbie. See? Now we're not strangers. Now do you wish to tell me?"
"Just because you tell me your name.."
Shelly interrupted. "You know what? Don't bother. I don't live too far away, we'll discuss your matter there," she said briefly, starting to walk down the sidepath again. Lucy tilted her head, completely confused about what just happened. Instead of following this Shelly person, Lucy placed her hands to her hips, casting her gaze to the ground.
"Are you going to sit there and wallow in your misery, or are you coming?" Shelly called out over the rain, her voice carrying an echo nearby. Lucy shook her head, and followed after the other woman. "Good!"
[Presently..]
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "We're here!"
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "Why did I come here again?"
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Because I asked you to. I couldn't leave such a pathetic looking thing out in the cold, unforgiving rain. So be thankful. I don't perform that kind of service for everyone."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "Ah.. well. Perhaps I should just be on my way.."
Lucy nods slightly, and means to take off back into the rainy evening. Shelly smiles slightly, and grabs Lucy by her hair. Lucy stops instantly, then looks back over her shoulder.
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "No. You're going to repay my hospitality by telling me why you were out there. So get in."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "I'm not in the mood to be molested, thanks."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "What makes you think I'm going to do that? You're unappealing to me. But if you want to stay out here and freeze, be my guest. I could always have fun poking your dead body with a pointy stick."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "Fine. Whatever. I'll come inside. Now let go of my hair, would you?"
Shelly shrugs, and releases Lucy's hair. Lucy mumbles something as Shelly turns on a nearby light, reavealing only part of her home. It is lavish indeed, showcasing many expensive things right off the bat. Leather furniture here, a Monet recreation there.. Everything that is to be expected from someone who obviously had alot of money to waste. As Shelly walks in and tosses her umbrella to the ground, Lucy walks in behind her. Lucy's dripping wet clothes make the white carpet darken, but Shelly doesn't seem to notice or take a care. Instead, Shelly sighs as she sits down upon a dark leathered loveseat, and points to a chair opposite. Lucy shrugs, then sits on the floor. She gathers her knees to her chest, and places her head upon them. Shelly raises an eyebrow, then places her hands to her lap.
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "How is it that you've come to afford this?"
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Modeling. Acting. Wrestling. I've done alot of things. Get back to the subject at hand."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "I'd rather not. I was just about over it then you had to come along."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "You're a bad liar, you know that?"
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "... Yes.. thank you."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Well.. I'm waiting."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "I don't know why I'm doing this.."
- Moments later-
"But I was there, whether if he knew it or not. That's.. about all."
Shelly places her fingertips to her chin and looks up for a moment, taking in the little story Lucy has just told her. She then runs her fingertips through her hair, and sighs.
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Yes, I've seen miss Kitty before. I can see why he chose his blonde princess over you. Maybe he knew you were there, and decided he wanted her instead, just to spite you? I'm sure there are many things you're not taking into consideration."
Lucy smiles, but it isn't exactly happy.
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "No. Things are exactly as I have said. I've been abandoned.. again.. I shouldn't have fallen for it. It was just too good to be true. I'm such a fool.."
She sighs.
"I wish to be emotionless so I don't experience this kind of emotional pain and agony."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Emotionless? Everyone has emotions.. without them we would be empty shells. What you're looking for is not to be hurt again. It's rather simple to devoid yourself of those petty emotions if you know how."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "The thing is I don't know how. The light in my soul is gone.. the sparkle in my eyes have faded away."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "They're just hidden away. Life is what you make of it, and by the looks of you, you're not making life out to be very pretty. But think of this. Without all this pain, how can you better appreciate what life has to offer? I have a zest for life myself, and I love the men whose lives I run to ruin. You can be happy being ruthless and making others miserable, my dear. I know you can be. So you have to leave all this pain and heartache behind you, and make love to life."
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "You're expecting me to just do this with a snap of one's fingers? It takes time.."
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "Of course it takes time. Don't worry though. I've decided to help you. It looks as though you need someone to help, and badly. So.. here I am."
Shelly sighs, and then looks down at Lucy. The latter shakes her head again, then means to get up. She does, then places her hands to her hips.
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "I don't get it. Why are you so willing to help me?"
"The Queen of Hearts" Shelly Martinez: "It's all very simple. I get a chance to show my face again on wrestling television, and you get a mentor of sorts. I think it sounds like a good deal to me, so why don't you take it?"
"Listless Specter" Lucy Furr: "I'll think on it.
